It's going to be a warm, humid day today; I was spoiled last week by true fall temperatures and I hate that it didn't last long.

I actually woke up to the alarm screaming.... wow. LOL, I had promised Charlotte to drive her to the airport, and it was 5:30 AM. Now my tummy is hollering it's hungry.

I have absolutely no plans for today.

I went to the bank , got some cash, put gas in the car, came home and washed my hair. That just might be my day.

Are you/Kathsgrdn listed as a "call a nurse"? He had a medical question? In 5-7 years U retire?

I listed 2 sets of 2, breakfast bar stools for sale. People immediately emailed within 10 minutes of listing to see IF I STILL had them...but neither wanted to stop by and purchase them. :0) lol So silly! I might just keep them and put them in the rentals for renters to use. And....my cat likes sleeping in the padded nice ones. :0)

I am sitting at a gas station....truck broke down. :(

Jody and I drove to town but took a back road. Driving along and all at once the truck wouldn't steer. Well it would, with effort, but no power steering.

No shoulder to pull off on and had heavy rain a day ago, so muddy. Made it to a gas station where the country road intersected a main highway, just a mile or so....seemed to take forever.

It is the idler pulley. Jody called a friend, whose daughter came and took him to the parts house, and then she left.

Update: He bought the pulley and a socket set....didn't have the size socket he needed, so we started the truck and coasted most of the way to the parts house. So that's where we are now. Jody is a good mechanic, so should be on our way soon. I hope. It is very hot today!

I am so sorry you have to endure verbal abuse from patients! You would think they would be grateful to have someone answer their questions without going in to see the doctor un-necessarily. I know I was most grateful for advice nurses when I started having my children.

I have a day filled with errands. Lots of small things to cross off a to-do list, very little satisfaction.

schoolhouse, it's funny you mention going to the bank for some cash. Where I live cash is practically obsolete. I didn't realize SF and NYC were somewhat unique in this regard until my big road trip this summer and seeing people at places like Starbucks and the grocery store or Chick-Fil-A use actual green stuff was surprising.

Marilyn, I am so sorry your truck broke down. That is awful. I hope it will be back and running quickly.

Moni, aren't unscheduled days great sometimes? Maybe a big cooking project? I am craving rouladen and rot kohl myself ;-)

It seems like it has been going on forever. The second bathroom renovation is dragging on. Our guy had to take some time away due to the things that had occurred as a result of Irma.

Tile around the bathtub happening now. I wanted to do 9x12, but could not find the right color, etc. So, 12x12 tiles on the wall and only 5 high. Keep it simple. Whereas the other bathroom tile were 6x6 and went all the way to the ceiling. I will be sooooo glad when this project is done.

I miss my naps when Larry is here. He'll not be here on Sunday, maybe I can get two naps. Really, I would prefer a good night's sleep, but that has not happened in decades.

Rhizo, I'm a telephone nurse now. Same abuse as when I worked on the floor, only now they can't physically abuse me too, which is good.

Marilyn, sorry you're having mechanical issues with the truck. That sucks.

It's almost 90 today! Didn't fall asleep till after 8 am. My sleep is so messed up now. Apparently the Burgoo Festival is going on downtown today. I may go down there later just to have something to do.

I hurriedly dressed to go to grandson's soccer game this morning. Then hung around my daughter's house for a bit. Just chilling now on my deck. Tomorrow going shopping and/or dinner with daughter number 3 for her birthday. DH went to the riverhouse alone. I am enjoying some me time and time with my daughters. Sometimes it is hard to schedule time with the daughters due to their work and mommy schedules, so I accommodate my schedule. DH understands. I think that he likes the alone time so he can have control of the remote.

Rita, I am craving rouladen and rotkohl as well. Not sure, when it will be cooked again.

But I went out, and mowed the yard, pulled weeds, washed towels... and am now back here.

What a day... very productive.

Wow, Moni, I feel like a bum. I was going to clean up the sunroom but it's almost 90 degrees out there. All I've done is paid my bills. Now going to go grocery shopping. I may do some out there when it cools off tonight.

Moni, if you ever want to visit/bike in the SF Bay, you are welcome to come to my house and I will make rouladen and rotkohl and apple cake. I have a cottage you can use.

PS I did make the rouladen- though I had to harangue my German butcher to pound out the meat for me- the father has retired and the son who runs the shop is more into his motorcycle than his wursts ;-)

Rita... to bad, I didn't know about you in 2010... when I rode the Pacific Coast on my bike.... I spent two, or was it three nights in SF.

I've had better days. I did mostly just normal tidy up stuff but it was a painful day for Amiee so I put clothspins in my hair, used eyeliner and put freckles all over my face and tied one of the boys Batman capes on, turned on the s ong YMCA and danced my butt off all thru the livingroom...took her mind off it a few minutes or I like to think so anyway, but the door was open and I failed to see the mailman watching the entire show. I felt dumb signing for a letter dressed as I was...think this was the part that actually got a laugh from Amiee while the boys ran to hide. Lol

Mama, we must make that plan work!! (Really and truly.) And I am so sorry to hear Aimee had a hard day. Watching the people we love suffer is heart wrenching. You are an amazing mother.
