Comments (2)I am doing SW Lotus Pod in the main living portion of the home. In the dining room a spa blue color. In the kids rooms, pink, spa blue, buttercream yellow and a limey green for the bathroom. Laundry room a buttercream yellow, powder room a spa blue color, master bedroom a taupe and master bathroom a pale blue gray color. (I guess I still need to pinpoint a lot of exact colors yet!) So I guess a lot of colors - all trying to go towards light though, will most likely get colors and have them made up at 75% so it is very soft and almost pastel like....See MoreWhite Molding/Trim, but Off-White Cabinets...does this bother you
Comments (12)rdas, Have you thougt about lighting? In my kitchen the lighting effects the color of my paint. My cabinets are a shade or so warmer than the bright trim throughout the rest of my house. But, the lighting that comee in from the windows changes the color of the cabinets throughout the day. Slightly of course. And at night the glow from the undercab lighting and the accent lighting also has an effect. My paints appear so close they look like they match. Only I know because I ordered different paint colors. Can I see a difference up close? Not really and this may be because they are by the same paint manufacturer and truly just a shade appart. You will be in a different situation because my cabs are painted and yours are custom ordered. I can only imagine the stress you are under trying to match. I also have the factor of the The Tan Coat wall paint color draws the eye away from whites fighting with each other. Sorry there are pieces of trim missing in this pic. Still trying to finish the kitchen. I hope this can give you an idea that whatever you do choose will probably be closer than you realize. You have excellent taste and I know your kitchen will be amazing. ~boxerpups...See Moredecorators white kitchen cabinets need bright white wall/ceiling/trim
Comments (2)thank you so much for your response! The floors are quarter sawn white oak that will be stained a warm med tone walnut color. nothing too dark. I did realize when i posted this that my cabinets will touch the ceiling so I decided to go with the same white throughout most of the house on the ceilings, Decorators White. On the top floor, which is our master bedroom suite I think I'm going to use the Chantilly lace. It's a bit darker up there and I'm trying to make it as bright as possible. Thats the color of our vanity in the masterbath, so I may just do all the trim and ceilings that color. That floor is a clean break from all the other walls and trim, so it won't look like a mistake! Truthfully the place was a mess before renovation (we bought it that way) so I really just want everything clean and white!! I may end up doing what you suggested with the walls...still wishing for white, but don't I can steer away from the Decorators white without making the cabinets look dingy....See MoreAnne Steichen Architecte d'Intérieur
