HELP! Hair loss with hair coloring!
Comments (2)Does your hairdresser have you sit under a dryer to heat your hair and make the color develop faster? That heat has caused my hair to frizz and break off, so now I just wait at room temperature until I'm "done." Does your hairdresser keep checking your hair every couple of minutes to make sure it's not overprocessing? Natural Instincts is a home product that works reasonably well to temporarily cover grey, is not harsh and comes with a good deep conditioner. BTW, biotin has made my hair (and nails) grow faster, but it hasn't given me more hair. My thyroid hormone was found to be low, which is a common problem, and the replacement hormone I take now has given me a bit more hair -- might be worth checking....See MoreHair Loss Slowing -- An Update
Comments (30)I hesitate to say this because I did it as part of my get rid of migraine program which worked for 5 years. I took flax oil for 3 years in higher quantities. By the end of that I was no longer having migraines and my hair started to thicken up and my hairline rapidly was moving down lower than I've ever had on my forehead. It was very strange. I quit taking the flax oil because I was sick of it plus the excess weight and for 5 years was completely migraine free but it has moved back in. My hair however has stayed growing much more quickly. I'm not sure if causation and all that. Trier beware...See MoreHair products for short hair
Comments (28)If you want the spiky look, then mousse would probably give you the finish you want. My hair has gotten some curl in it which tends to get unruly in the summer, so I've found "It's a 10" leave in conditioner which seems to control and add a lot of shine. I get the walmart equate version though. I figure if it's popular enough for walmart to copy it, it must be well received in general. This is me on vacation in ID, just toodling around...I also don't color my hair...never have and am delighted to not have to start...yet anyway. But short hair is wonderful. It takes me 30 sec to dry my hair and go. Last thing I want to do is complicate my life. Congrats on the new do!...See MoreHair Hair Everywhere
Comments (11)I don't wax. Thankfully, my legs are not a big problem and as I'm getting older (or maybe it was 'the change"?) they are even less so. For years I've had a problem with thinning eyebrows so only have a few strays to pluck. BUT, after posting here just a few weeks ago that I'm too young (58) to go grey - I BIT THE DUST!! I have dark hair but I have had to cover the grey for years. My grandmother and her sister went white (not grey) early. I don't even remember them any other way. I was scared to death I'd be the same. Our shop opened Friday and I went in (only me and my gal and another stylist cleaning the other end of the salon thank goodness!) for a cut and decided to do grey highlights. I was a bit nervous LOL. I think I made my stylist nervous, but she did a wonderful job! I'm so happy with it! She used a cap to pull through tiny pieces all over. On some of the hair we simply stripped the color and on some she did mixed 3 shades for a grey colored toner. I'm sitting here right now with a "blue" deep conditioner! I think I won't have a problem letting the rest of the color grow off and if my hair does look too light/white, we will add in some low-lights. I'm pretty sure we are going to have to do that to the front/top of my head as that appears to be the lightest. The rest looks like a pretty even mix. It was a shock the first day but I got up yesterday and looked in the mirror and really like it. All the sudden, I just felt like I could not deal with the all over coloring, the root line, etc. I'm pretty low maintenance, hopefully now even more so!...See MoreLyban zone 4
