Comments (5)Farrow & Ball's Clunch is an extremely beautiful, neutral color. Not warm or cool, and very saturated with pigment, it looks lovely in both sunlight, shade and interior lights. Plus it works beautifully with all the colors you mention. It is so UN everything in terms of visible base color(s), that it's quite timeless. You need to see a paint sample IRL though, I've seen very few print or website reproductions accurately reflect what it is. Even so, I can't tell you how many times I've seen it in magazines and known what it was before reading the text. It has a depth and richness to it that seems to carry through wherever it is. I lived with it in a master bedroom for several years and never tired of it. In fact, the color was so lovely, I remember saying I wanted to eat the walls! Clunch would make a lovely foil for whatever you wanted to do in an open concept home. Then use the turquoise, teal and cream colors you like in furnishings, fabrics, accessories and art....See MoreGrowing pains with decorating light gray walls
Comments (7)I am using black frames with white mats for some color flower photography I have been saving for over our bed. It will add a punch of color to a subdued room. If it is too much color, I'd relocate them to the living room with its light bright green walls. A mirror looks great against a light gray wall. The silver tone of the mirror itself is fabulous. I haven't decided which one to put up, but I will have one over on our light gray wall. We went with pure white wts and white trim and love the contrast. YMMV....See MoreDecorating with gray walls
Comments (15)I think using the colors in your print is a great idea and will go well with your wall colors. I have SW Collonade Gray, Agreeable Gray, and Exclusive Plum in my open concept kitchen, dining, living space. What I love most is how it changes with light, time of day, and the other colors you introduce to the room. Grays are very versatile to decorate around. I'm using the colors in my floral arrangement as my scheme: plum, with soft mustard, and celery accents. I haven't permanently placed anything yet and won't until I decide on my ceiling lights. Here are some of the mixed materials I am using, mahogany, ebony, walnut, cherry, and marble. The gold mirror is a must for me. I think I'm placing it in my dining area. It adds a warm glow and completely changes the gray....See MoreGray vs beige walls and decorating
Comments (12)Thank you for all of the feedback/suggestions. I will look into the other colors mentioned. Pps7, you have given me something to think about. I am drawn to more earthly tones, but a part of me wants to veer from my norm and try something different. I feel confident I can do a nice job decorating if I stick in the beige range but I feel lost when I think of accenting grays. I am having a hard time envisioning a plan. I need to look at some more sites and try to find some inspiration! Thanks again everyone!!!!...See MoreRelated Professionals
