Yoshino Cherry Dropping Yellow Leaves

barb b

I planted a Yoshino Cherry tree in zone 6 North of Boston. It was planted in May and was doing well all summer. Now in the first week of September it's turning yellow and dropping a lot of leaves. Is this normal for this time of year? I see a few spots on leaves and now a little hole in the trunk. It came on quickly and I'm wondering what to do if anything? All of the info I found says don't fertilize or do anything for the first year. Any advice?
