I've always liked those but I fear that would rub my high arch and skinny ankles too much. Plus, by the time I need a closed toe shoe around here, I'm usually just putting on a boot. I'll let you know if I see it in your size though.

Nice. I tend to wear sneakers or Toms for casual and am always at a loss for dressier flats. You do have great taste!

ETA: my computer shows they have size 10 black to ship on 9/15! Hurry, hurry. On sale, too!

You're my angel of the week, Cyn! They didn't have my size when I first saw them so I wouldn't likely have gone back again. They DO feel wonderful on (I had tried them on when they first came out) and I love how they look with a slightly shorter pant. I am all about the things that wear like slippers and pajamas but give the illusion of style ;)

I may not be meant to have these shoes! After many tries to purchase them over the years, I finally had a pair on order-- but they say they've delivered them and they are NOT here. I filed a missing package form but I am not holding my breath.

and of course, they are sold out in my size again. :(

pretty black sparkly shoes at nordstromI am resurrecting this because I did search the forum knowing that there were several threads on flat shoes. I was just on FB and you know how they have the ads all through? Usually they are the blue runner rugs I have been browsing (and on FB the vendors vary but are the very same rugs I have looked at) or the curtains maybe someone here had linked for their room ( I guess because I clicked on their thread).......well today was a very nice glitzy flat shoe from Nordstrom on sale for 41.37. I just think these are way neat. They also come in silver and gold.

I hope no one minds that I tacked onto this thread- if I might have been able to search a better one I would have tacked on to that one.

I'm glad you resurrected this thread. Maybe Funky will post and we can find out if she ever received her shoes!

I am searching for nice flats for my hard to fit feet. I have yet to find a ballet slipper that I can wear - either they look too much like bedroom slippers or the outline of my toes show or they're uncomfortable. I've decided to just look for regular flats and Nordstrom usually has a good selection.

Ah yes-- I DID receive my shoes! I don't remember what the hold up was.. but I received them and have been wearing them without problems.

Maire-cate. I too have a hard time with ballet shoes.. I bought this corso como recital shoe at Nordstrom a few months ago. I really didn't care for the shoe-- I thought it was kind of boring, the tie on front seemed kind of skimpy and dumb and I hated the fabric trim-- but they were the exact color I needed for an outfit/event. I still don't love the look of the shoe but I wear them a fair amount because they are so very comfortable! The leather is really very nice-- very soft but not so soft that your toe outline shows. The foot bed is nicely cushioned and molds to your foot. I wear them with dress pants and with jeans.

Nordstrom only has a few colors left but amazon and a number of other stores have them in other colors-- all at steep discounts (like well under $50). The color below is pewter.

Funky - thanks for the tip. The pewter is interesting, fairly neutral and a color I could use.

Oohhh - I like those black sparkly shoes. I don't have any need for something like that but almost feel like checking them out in case I have a need in the future.

I would try those -- if they came in my size. :( But it's not like I need shoes right now.

I thought of you when I saw these on Une Femme's blog - not the ballet look pair, but the slingbacks in the second photo. You've mentioned wearing flats and looking for some that would be dressy. I don't know if they appeal to you but they look like they could be worn casual to dress.

I have just accepted that I don't care for ballet flats. I have a pair of Tory Burch in my shopping cart and a pair of Cole Haan that just arrived. They fit-- I just don't care for the look.

Surprisingly, I have found a few low heels that I can wear-- I can't really explain why these work and sooooo many others (even lower heels) do not. I really think it is about the sole and my being able to "feel" the ground (my issues are with depth perception and vision issues. I feel off balance and unsteady on my feet in a LOT of shoes.) Luckily, these are all very affordable and just this weekend, I ordered multiple pairs of each.

Nine West Raissa - I ordered this slide in both a denim pattern and black leather. The pink is very sparkly so I'll get limited use from it but it is very pretty :)

Crocs Leigh-Ann - while this one gave me two terrible cuts under my big toe (the boniest part of my foot). I ordered another pair because I could wore them to work ALL day without any balance or vertigo kinds of issues. I'll try moleskin under the vamp to avoid future cuts. (thankfully I just had a pedicure-- as I won't get another with any broken skin on my foot).

Check Zulily for FitFlops, especially since you know what you like and how they fit. Zulily had FitFlops a week or so ago.

Marie-Cate, loved the look of the Everlane slingback. On the Nordstrom site there is a link to the factory that makes them in Florence. I’m going to Florence this summer. I think I’ll see if I can find them!

bbstx - How neat is that? I hope you find something you like in Florence. I think they're really stylish. Unfortunately I can't wear them because they cut right across my bunion.

I finally ordered my vacation shoes, I already have scandals, open toe 2" block heels and sneakers.

Hope these fit. Tired of looking. Both of these had good reviews for comfort.

These are probably too high for you Funk.

I think the one below is around 2 1/2" high but the front platform is 3/4" so I should be able to walk.

I'd wear the slip on-- but I don't really need more of those (as if that would stop me!) I'll be curious to hear how they breath.

The wedge isn't going to be secure enough on my foot and it's too high... but it is cute!

I have no reason for why the crocs heel worked for me-- but I may never wear them again. My cuts are deep and still heeling. It's my fault-- wearing a new, cheap shoe all day.

I hope so as well. I don't have a lot of luck as most end up being too wide. I actually think they are making medium widths wider than yesteryear. I also almost never go over 2" high so I'm taking a chance with that last one.

Some of my favorite summer outfits are the color of those platform slip ons. I really like them. Let me know how they work out for you!

Tip on Crocs --you can set them in the sun or warm them just a little with a hair dryer and stretch them out. You need to be careful not to melt them - they will shrink (I have read), but just a little warmer than you wearing them and then use your hands to ease them out. I had a pair with the back strap that just dug into my heel on one foot. That took care of it without having to wait for it to break in.

What a great idea —but these have a fabric top. That’s what cut me — top of my foot.
