Dwarf Citrus from Four Wind Growers
Comments (12)The only dwarf citrus rootstock that does well in Arizona is Flying Dragon. Cuban Shaddock is a pretty poor choice for high pH environments and you will be endlessly fighting chlorosis and poor growth. You should apply sulfur and chelated iron every four months to the drip line, following the directions on the packages for application. I usually apply epsom salts at roughly a tablespoon per gallon every six months. Another option is monthly foliar feeding....See MoreFour winds growers
Comments (3)4th generation Four Winds; but not a bad legacy. I am a BIG fan of Four Winds, not just for the quality trees they produce; but because the founder, together with the Univ. of Calif. is responsible for the Improved Meyer Lemon, released to the public in 1975,...See MoreJust received Gold Nugget from Four Winds Growers
Comments (60)My GN from them that arrived maybe a couple of weeks before Stephen's is looking better. I got rid of the scale and it has grown new shoots that have now matured and are dark green. The leaves the tree came with were very deficient and it has dropped many. I still find it is dropping the old leaves almost daily. However, the new growth that it put out looks good so I think the tree is on its way to health. I do expect better from them. My bouquet de fleurs may be improving, but it was very light when I got it and seemed to get worse after being here for a while. I THINK it finally is on its way to health although it has not pushed out any growth other than the rootstock, which I removed....See MoreFour Winds Growers New Website Format
Comments (12)I inquired about the Villafranca and the NZL for Kelley and here is the response: "Yes both the Villafranca and the NZ Lemonade will be back up in the near future, we are building out the new product pages bit by bit. We actually have a number of new things we will add in the coming weeks. The new site is still a work in progress but we are very excited about it. It is a lot easier for us to work with on our own which will allow us to be more nimble with adding new products as they become ready. You should start to only see the new version soon but things can always be a bit buggy at first. We are told it takes 24-48 hours for everything to transfer over completely. We will get you Lee x Nova to you as soon as we can but rest assured your there is a nice tree with your name on it." A great email. I wish the regular CS representative answered her emails the same way as Lexa. It is usually extremely short and never answers all the questions asked....See MoreLauren Stephens
