What a FUBAR. Drywall compound and greenboard do not belong anywhere near a wet environment, even if you've thrown in some cement board into the mix because you "heard" that was you were supposed to do. It's flat out wrong, plain and simple. It WILL turn to mush and mold, even if you slap some tile on top. Tile may not care about which surface it's installed on, but WATER sure does! Tile is NOT a waterproof surface, even if you seal the grout. Water gets behind it, and you have to design the whole installation as a water management system. It all needs to come out so that you can construct a properly waterproofed shower from the studs out. Halfassing a project is always the longer and harder way than doing it right from the beginning.

I have a small roll top desk with the drawer hanging/ tipping in the slot. the drawer is only supported in the front because the slot keeps it from completely crashing to the floor but the drawer is unusable in it's current state. When I moved the desk into my home, we noticed a small plastic drawer guide fell off, causing the issue. But I cannot for the life of me figure out where this piece was originally attached. When I went beneath the desk to look, I noticed the drawer is set up on a center wooden slider and there is an identical plastic guider attached to the back of the drawer but no holes anywhere else that indicate where the 2nd drawer guide was originally. However, I noticed the wood slider is cracked down the center. If possible, I think I would like to remove it and install a metal slider in it's place. Is this possible? And how? I believe a center mount slider is my only option because the drawer is "free-floating" I suppose you might say. There is nothing to attach sliders to on the sides and nothing beneath the drawer to attach bottom mount sliders. Though if anyone has a different solution than what I'm suggesting I would love to hear it. Thanks!

These photos and your suggestions are so helpful! I really appreciate it. We have a very large book collection, and I'd like to be able to fit in as many shelves as possible. I'm hoping for two, with the bottom one starting right above the baseboard, but was worried it would look too crowded or strange starting so low to the ground.

The previous Ikea kitchen cabinet line had a wall cabinet frame with a lower inserted shelf that extended out farther than the frame so a micro could sit on it. Can't identify the same in the current Sektion cabinets. Frames without doors are cheap. There is hardware I found on Amazon, but you need it to be secure microwave wall hardware
