Hi, Thanks for the comments, guys. I have pretty much decided to go with a regular pot rack and just have a couple of can lights installed, maybe one on either side of the rack. I am shopping on potracksgalore right now (Thanks, eventhecatisaboy), and I think I'm going to go with a basic rectangular stainless steel rack with also a small wall bar above my stove for utensils. Alicia, thanks for the comments! I don't really have a drawing of the cabinets, but I think that wall will look OK. We just couldn't figure out what to do there because there wasn't room for anything to come down on either side of the window, so it was going to look weird. We're thinking of putting some open shelving over the window just to kind of balance out the other wall of cabs. We're just working it out as we go along. Coffee pots always make beautiful real/faux flower vases. Is it clear glass, use the half-marbles or other marbles/cut glass pieces you find at craft stores or Walmart (in the craft section) and put them in the bottom to hold the flowers up straight or to cover up the stems of the faux flowers. About $1.99 at WM and $1 at the Dollar Store. You could even GE Silicone II glue the half-marbles on it in a pretty flower design or another design and then do the flowers or as a holder for something else. Another idea I've seen on the Garden Junk forum is they hang a watering can/tea pot/coffee pot from a post hanger and plant flowers in it or string some light blue beads and glue them to the inside of the spout so it looks like water is being poured out. Do a "search" in that forum on teapots, I think that will find that post. Hope these ideas help you with your project, please post a pic for us to see when you're done. Sal

Snout, I don't have hanging pots, but I do keep pots and pans in their own drawers and have a separate drawer for lids. It's not ideal, as I now think I'd like to have them organized a bit, like standing up, similar to tray storage, but my drawer isn't tall enough for that....So they just sort of nest/stack...Glass lids in front, all-metal lids behind.

I wouldn't recommend a pot rack/light over your dining table. Pot racks are only meant for kitchen islands. I wouldn't do it even if your kitchen island is part of your dining table. What do you think of these options below for your dining table? These are simple transition pieces to start from. Now sizing of the chandelier will depend on the size of your dining table. Good luck!
