custom refrigerator handle pulls for paneled refrigerator door
Comments (8)I faced the same dilemma about 6 weeks ago. We'd ordered KA's French door fridge and needed THREE door pulls for it! Yikes, I had no idea they were so expensive! Since I already have a bit of arthritis in my fingers, comfort was my Number #1 concern. I found a recommendation for Hardware Hut (www.hardwarehut.com) here on GW and was amazed at the selection. The prices were the best also. When I narrowed my search, I visited several cabinet showrooms to look and feel the pulls they offered. I ended up picking Top Knobs M-848 18" appliance pulls/handles in the pewter. I also have bin pulls on part of my cabs and wanted to stay away from the industrial look. I also steered away from the pulls that were too thin, had ridiculous uncomfortable additions to them or had ends sticking out that might snag on clothes. We've been using our kitchen now for the past two weeks and I am really happy with the appliance pulls we decided on. Regardless of what initially attracts you, my best advice is to try out as many pulls yourself as possible. I was amazed at how uncomfortable many pulls were. The cabinet front fridge doors are a bit heavy anyway . . . go for comfort as well as good looks....See MoreNew dishwashers with recessed handles vs pull handles
Comments (2)I just went through selecting a dishwasher. I ended up going with a Bosch with a recessed handled. I selected the recessed handle for two reasons. First, the dishwasher is where I do most of my cooking work like cutting vegetables, etc so I didn't want the handle in the way. Second the recessed handle forces you to apply force to open the dishwasher door more toward the center. Take a dishwasher with a handle and apply a torque to it and they doors seem pretty flimsy. With the recessed handle it forces you to pull in the best spot....See Moreneed help with refrigerator recess
Comments (11)I do think that the upper cabinets to the left of your fridge may need a filler between it and the fridge panel so when you open the cabinet door all the way the hardware doesn't bang against the panel. I don't know the exact size, but I think normally it is 3", but also depends on the how far your pulls stick out too. But as far as the right side of fridge where you are framing the wall... Here is how we boxed in our FD fridge with walls on either side to make it look sort of built in. I plan to finish it like a cased opening too...someday soon I hope! I don't know if this helps answer your question, but for my fridge the opening between the walls is 36 1/2" wide. This leaves just a slight gap of about 1/4" or so on each side of fridge. The wall is 31 1/2" deep. The fridge box (not including the doors) is approx. 28 1/4", so I am guessing that I must have about a 3" gap in the back. The stainless doors sit 'proud' of the walls, as BB mentioned. Both doors can fully open as far as the hinges allow. When we finish the walls with trim molding, it may have to be pulled forward a bit more so the doors will still clear.. Hope this helps....See MoreFrig with recessed handles?
