Thanks guys, I've been watching cooking shows today and obsessing over hardware! Guess what, America's Test kitchen used knobs on drawers so it must be ok! (or maybe it was the other show I watched?) I wanted a real mix of hardware, yes I love yours Igloo, but I made too many other choices! I got too tired out. DH will be around tomorrow for install so I told him to decide on placement FOR me! Yes, "decision prison" LOL!! I'm refusing to decide on a backsplash for now, even though we have a history of never finishing everything! I think I would just pick something safe, which might be ok, but I don't want to regret it later. Sooo anxious to see it in real life and see if it all comes together!!!!

Strangely, in my kitchen (which I bought used) the handles are both ways and it's a complete nonissue.... That being said I would not like a large handle in the center of the cabinet such as in the picture you have attached because you would not know whether you're pulling it from the right or the left. My handles are all distinctly on one side or the other so it's very clear which direction you pull the door to open.

Thanks for the input. Near unanimous to rely on my tin-eye to position the pulls. It is telling me to center the holes and let the body of the pull sit above the vertical center of the drawer. So that's what I'll do. I guess if it looks wrong later on I can get a slightly wider cup pull and position it lower covering the old holes. Thanks again, Barry

Why are the trims of different dimensions? I'm not following? Are you talking about how the trim on each side of the door is a different width? It's because the doors were put in when we were still planning on 4" wide trim and not the 1 x 6 trim we wound up doing. I'm okay with that because if you look at old homes you'll see that happened quite often where the door was in a corner so the trim didn't match completely. Oh thank goodness you're painting the hatband! I thought it might be stained. I think with the new height and the painted hatband, it will look really good and intentional. I would have LOVED to stain all the woodwork and doors, but alas it's way out of budget. Hence painting all the woodwork instead.
