nail head sofas, trends, beige blue HELP?
Comments (18)Thank you for all the encouragement. I am still mulling it over. I did get the sample fabric, and it actually is much darker than how the photo shows, and I think it has more of a dark dark blue gray. I wouldn't call it a true navy- though it is very nice and the texture is good. (I don't know how to describe it but its sort or subtle velvet tweed or soft nub). I am still thinking on it and one other thing is- I would likely get the sofa and loveseat, but would love to get a really comfy chair(like a can I say the word recliner?). We have in the past had a super comfy one that was not gorgeous, but it was ok. To my shock, my husband who is not usually very flexible tried some of those chairs with ottomans like ikea poang or stressless chairs, and thought they were super comfy. Wondering if anyone can suggest something that could work with this sofa style? Of course I will have more questions, but you've all been so helpful I figured I d ask here again....See MoreSofa trends??
Comments (31)I got this one- the nail heads I think can be left off ( I selected antique brass which is way less noticeable than the silver ones are). I too had a real bug for a navy sofa. I looked and looked. Originally I too wanted loose back but this has attached back and I love it. It really is neater and doesn't require constant adjusting. The seat cushions all flip. I got this about 18 months ago almost 2 years, and I LOVE it. It is not as high quality as some of the ones being suggested, but for my purposes I am delighted. (and it's made in USA) editing to insert photo DUH. don't know why its only showing partially. if you click on the photo you will see the full sofa. Comments (82)Round 2 Fabrics Went in with the list of suggestions and some others I wanted to check. Many were not in the studio, either checked out (it's an honor system) or gone forever so new samples were ordered for me. A few I could tell immediately would not work like the Lulu Citron. These take me in a different direction than the first round and even the blue is not the same as before, although similar. I did point out the difference between pics on the website and the actual sample of the first blue one and there are others with similar differences. They will ask if dye lots can differ that dramatically from pics to samples. I'm looking at the samples in the room and they are all reading warmer to me in person than they seem to show here, especially the pics on the rug. Thoughts?...See MoreWanted! Comments (4874)Flooring chosen yesterday! My guy saved me money in my last house by insisting that we match the existing whiite oak flooring; I had assumed it couldn't be matched, so I'd picked out a wider board in quarter-sawn oak. He'd said he wouldn't waste good wood! He would have made so much more money if he hadn't said anything. Yesterday, I explained that I have no way of knowing IF and when I'll need to move, as it is dependent on YS's work. He said, "I'll tell you what we're going to do." I'd already explained that I want to be able to have it repaired if any damage occurs at some point. And I'd explained that I did not want it to look rustic or as inconsistent in color as my existing floor. (By the way, he agreed that my flooring was badly botched, that they'd used boxes of two different kinds in addition to laying them poorly, and he didn't have any hesitation in removing this!) See above...he would have told me if he thought this was good. He's scheduled about eight weeks out, which did not surprise me. He's coming next week to measure precisely but could give me a good estimate based on the floor plan. So... What did he recommend? Engineered, to save me money. Nailed. Not glued. So many different woods used as the top layer, and he only uses brands that can be sanded four times. Solid wood can be sanded eight. They take off only 1/32nd of an inch. After considering several, I saw a sample that was exactly what I wanted. I didn't yet know what it was. I just knew it was "right." So you might imagine how I laughed when I found out that it's quarter-sawn white oak! Natural finish. I chose no knots which was a little more, but I wanted the emphasis on the grain. Beautiful. I need to leave for an appointment. I'll share a photo later....See MoreRelated Professionals
