Comments (7)Paint it a different color than the rest and celebrate diversity. Or hunt down one that does match-- I don't think most door companies have changed their designs over the last 35 years. Chances are if you can find the original maker they will still have the same door. Comments (1)It is completely a matter of personal taste. Do what looks best to you. There are no rules. However, we usually try to match the INTERIOR hardware of an exterior door to whatever is used with the interior doors. Comments (6)Save yourself while you still can... But, yes a barn door has to be large enough to cover the door opening. So it becomes an aesthetic question of how important it may be for the barn door to be the same size as other doors or not.
