That's an excellent picture, Sherry. The websites I looked at last night didn't have pics of the cats or chrysalis's(I think that's the right word), so this is helpful to me. Also, do you remember how long that cat measured? And is the yellow portion it's head? Thanks for sharing! I went out to check the vine that might be the Virginia Creeper, this morning, and discovered that my neighbor had ripped it all out, thinking it was poison ivy. It isn't. I could spit! I had a Question Mark come in today, he posed for me for about an hour, got some good pictures. He buzzed the rotting fruit, but didn't land on it. Nectared on the Butterfly Bush. Shirley!

One difference that may be the easiest to recognize is the leaf. A healthy tropical plant has a dark green glossy leaf that reflects the sun. Other types of hibiscus don't. Look at the picture of Dainty White posted above. It was taken in the late afternoon in full shade. Notice how light is reflecting off the leaf in even low light conditions. I don't see that in your photo even though it looks like the bloom is in sun because of the shadows on the left side of the lower petals of the bloom. randy

woohoo, It is not burn. Just the yellowing of the leaves. Always been there, even when I gave them MG, epsom, or something else. Im not sure slashing them in their infancy and having them grow that color is even possible, but who knows. I cant remember that far back if I did it. I gave them a shot of epsom and calcuim (for the other plants) today so I will tell you if they change color. If not, maybe that is the color of that plant.
