Vine recommendations for a house in SF Bay Area peninsula zone 9b
Comments (2)I hit the wrong button above and hadn't finished writing. I see the title got clipped. It should say zone 9b. Anyway, I think I covered everything, except to mention that I also picked up Asarina erubescens (not one of our original picks, but it just looks very easy. I have not grown Asarinas before....See MoreAllium globemaster in zone 10q/9b?
Comments (0)Can these alliums do well for my area? I'm in coastal Bay Area (San Francisco) so we don't have a lot of heat or too much frost. My area is full sun and I have drip irritation. I ordered bulbs and they'll be here next week. When should I be planting them? When do they normally bloom in my zone? Does anyone have photos of their globemasters in zone 9/10?...See Moreplanting manilla mango tree - Zone 9b Bay Area
Comments (5)My advice? Buy two more..or three more. Plant them about as far apart and in full sun as you have. Because the wait for one tree to give you many fruits is going to take at least 6-10 years at best in Fremont. If you plant four or five trees? You will get more fruit without waiting for one tree to reach 15 or 20 feet. I planted mine in the ground in 2012 and its about 12' tall. Full sun, reflected heat of a house or wall. NO SHADE!..if you can help it. Lots of summer water, feed them when they flush. Remember in summer...water,water,water. Soak deep.. THEN let it go a little dry in between When they show they like what care you give them.by flushing well, keep up that good routine of water and feed.. Here's my Hayward Manila....See MoreRose Cutting planting advice - zone 9b, Bay Area
Comments (2)Are you sure it's actually rooted? I see the cup above it in a clear plastic cup with (apparent) roots showing on the left, but the leaves on that one look kinda sketchy. How long has the lower one been rooting? One of the biggest mistakes people make is exposing their cuttings to ambient air too soon, or tipping it out of the pot too soon. Often cuttings look great for a few weeks b/c they're growing on the energy stored in the stem, rather than growing roots....See Morekrishi_2008 jasmin
