Comments (5)Yes the pillars are structural I am not sure if they are all needed but that will be determined by a pro. As for colors A nice shade of gray/ green with that roof and brick will be nice I would remove the shutters since most of them are too small anyway.Your gutters need to be the same color as the roof they are not a design element.Maybe just wood cladding for the pillars painted the same as the trim in the green some nice big planters by the door with seasonal plantings and then decide on a door color...See MoreBrick Home w/New Roof Needs New Soffit & Fascia -- WHAT COLOR??
Comments (8)I did not provide enough information and also my photos were not detailed enough to show that the actual (brand new) WINDOWS (from Window World) are NOT the same color as the old painted wood surrounding them. We think it will be impossible--and not look particularly good--to paint the wood to "match." They are a shade of beige, but it appears to have a slight undertone of green to it. We wanted to keep the shutters to add more color, but I get your point and appreciate your feedback!...See More1950s Orange Brick Ranch - New Roof and Gutters
Comments (10)When your budget allows, get a cottage style door. The one you have now feels Victorian. Think about getting a panel with windows for the garage door. Remove the railing. It is a visual barrier to you entry. Plant only perennials there. Add a few plants along the foundation. Be careful not to plant too close to the house. Allow a foot at maturity between the side of the house and the plant. Chose different heights and leaf color. Include some evergreen and some flowering. Don't plant anything that will grow above the bottom of the windows. This color, but not this style would look great!...See Moream getting new gutters and painting my house. what should I do first?
Comments (2)It would be best if you could have the old gutters removed, then paint the house, then have the new gutters installed. This would allow the fascia to be painted the new trim color and the walls to be painted without the downspouts in the way. Replacing any deteriorated trim would also be made easier....See MoreBrian Kennedy
