Comments (7)At 10.6-4.4-1.7 NPK %s its pretty high in P and quite low in K for houseplants, but it's still a so-so fertilizer and a better choice than any of the fertilizers with P (the middle number) as the highest %. How you fertilize to get the most out of your plants depends on your soil and watering habits. If you water in sips, you might fertilize at low doses infrequently - like maybe every month or so. If you flush the soil regularly when you water, it would be more appropriate to fertilize more frequently at higher doses. W/o some knowledge of the type of soil you're using and some knowledge of how you water, no one can really give you any meaningful advice. It took quite a bit of looking to determine the NPK %s of the fertilizer, but I have no idea what other nutrients it contains. It's important that your plant gets all the nutrients essential to growth - do you have any information that points to its complete nutrient content? It's NPK %s indicate it would be ok for any of your plants, but for the slow growers you might want to cut back on the concentration. It's just another soluble fertilizer, cut from the same cloth as Miracle-Gro, Peters, Schultz, and others. Tell me how you water and I should be able to give you a dosage that will work. Comments (22)In what general part of the country do you live? For example, Buck roses do better in the midwest than in the northeast. Here is what midwestgardetips says about Easy Elegance roses: "The Easy Elegance Series of roses are as easy to care for as flowering shrubs. Follow standard planting practices for shrub roses and feed once a year in very early spring with a slow release fertilizer. There is no need for a chemical regimen to control pests and disease. The collection was bred by Bailey Nurseries and is a perfect northern rose with blooms that rival grafted tea roses." http://www.midwestgardentips.com/hardy_roses_for_midwest_garden.html My rugosas get blackspot, especially Hansa. You can't spray them because they drop their leaves. Cane borers can wipe out most of the canes, and pulling out suckers is work. Rose de Rescht is another possibility. It is probably the best repeating of the Old Garden Roses and is very hardy. Country Dancer is another Buck rose to consider....See Moreplanting shrubs - have I been doing it all wrong?
Comments (12)when in livonia.. where i had a great MI peat soil ... i could GET AWAY WITH ... sticking a potted plant.. right into the soil.. and never looking back ... the MI peat was 'close enough' ... then i moved to adrian.. where it is all mineral sand ... if i plant a pot with VERY HIGH PEAT potting media.. in sand.. EVENTUALLY ... the sand will wick all the moisture out of the peat ... and once that happens.. peat can become nearly water repellant ... and eventually.. the plant will die.. and this goes from perennials.. thru conifers.. and into trees ... though if the plant is aggressive enough to grow out of the peat.. its a non-issue ... so for me.. its the DIVERGENCE OF SOIL TYPES... which is a killer ... so over the years.. i have found that PROPER PLANTING ... at the PROPER TIME [FALL/SPRING IN MI] ... allows near full bare rooting.. and removal of the problem media/soil .. and while the roots are nudie.. some root pruning if horribly root bound ... and then planting into the native soil ... the issue would be NO DIFFERENT.. if you were in bad clay.. with peat potting media .. the clay MIGHT hold too much water at certain times of year.. and the peat would only hold more .... and very often.. a plant that rots its roots in spring.. will not LOOK dead.. until the heat of summer ... burns all the leaves off it ... and then we have a hard time.. figuring out.. when it really died ... ken...See MoreCan I use short and long curtains in the same room ?
Comments (6)Thanks. Roman blinds would look great but I do not have even an inch gap to install Roman blinds as I have installed grill on all windows for safety purpose. I have curtain rods installed. I can only hang curtains, not blinds. Electrical switchboards are those boards where we plug in our chargers and adapters. You can see it under the small window. I have two small windows on left and right side of my bed. I do not know whether I should hang same height curtains all over till 6 inches below the window sill or if I should hang two short curtains and one long curtain. Or should I hang curtains exactly till the window sill?...See Morewaynedanielson
