New Caesarstone Calacatta Nuovo
Comments (7)Hi: I felt the same way when I went to see it but was going to go with it anyway because I love it more than any of the other marble-alternatives that I've seen. BUT, when I get an estimate, it turns out that the Caerstone slabs only come in 2cm thicknessers and are 54" x 120" so you get much less out of each slab which caused me to need a 3rd slab. And, I wanted a 2" island so the mitering on the edge to get that look was almost as expensive as the slabs themselves!! So frustrated b/c I finally thought I had a great alternative to Calacatta. Any other options, please share!!!...See MoreCaesarstone Calacatta
Comments (73)I wish the pictures were better. It really doesn't show the depth of colors. Thank you everyone for your kind words! It means a lot to me since the process of this renovation was so excrutiating. It was really difficult to find the time to do everything--order samples, which sink, which faucet, which appliances, doors vs drawers, what floor material, what backsplash tiles, what lighting, what colors, materials, etc. Hence, the burnout & no paint, light fixtures (other than the recessed) nor window dressings yet. Hopefully there won't be a next time, but next time I would get a designer. It was a lot to do living in another city & with a full-time + job. To answer your questions, yes, that is a Bosch dishwasher -- pretty scary that you can tell! I don't know the exact measurement of the counter overhang, but my guess is that it is about 1/8" to 1/4". It is pretty flush near the doorway though since I squeezed as much cabinetry in as I could. jcollins84 & rcolburn99, your kitchens are going to be amazing! How can they not be? You picked an awesome countertop! :)...See MoreRamblings about finishes and Omega Dynasty whites
Comments (22)Hi, sxp245! Your project sounds amazing. So, though I still am conflicted about it, we ended up changing our kitchen a little--mainly due to the problem of how to coordinate our wood floor with the smokey grey cabinets. We went with a dark blue painted island, white quartz counters everywhere, and the Pearl Omega cabinets. If I could go back, I probably would have done the calacatta quartz at least on the island. I didn't find great info on the Vadara product we were considering, and it seems there weren't as many cool marble-like quartz options then. I do think the smokey gray/calacutta/Pearl cabinets is a winning combination. My friend who is a designer and has a great eye for color pulled those 3 together and felt like they worked really well. I think that combination would be beautiful--and both cool and classic! :) On another note, the Omega cabinets do seem to be good quality, and the finish has held up well, despite the workout they get from my kids! Best of luck with your project! I would love to see photos of the finished product!...See MoreHelp please with color choices for white cabinets and quartz counters.
Comments (49)Your kitchen is beautiful! I love the mix of white and wood cabinets with the Hanstone quartz. Thank you so much for the photos! I used this quartz in my bathrooms and this is similar to what I’m planning to do with my kitchen next. I see you continued the quartz in the backsplash behind the stove. What did you use for the backsplash behind the sink and desk? Also, what have you found to work best for maintaining the quartz? I’m a little afraid of mine given the warnings they gave me about heat damaging it. I’ve also noticed that I need to wipe off water spots. Thank you!...See MoreCaesarstone
