Comments (26)hate to not have to say anything new lol..but yes of course, it's the backsplash. nice suggestions above. will make tons of difference hardware can be changed or not..i think it's pretty versatile a rug will help to set a tone..but if you're hesitant about rugs-I'd look into changing the lighting fixture for something that'd reflect your taste more it's all easy fixes, relatively speaking. you're not miles from what you envision..you're couple feet away:) yes, paint creams white color..or not a neutral, but a version of some color you love, so it won't fight with the cabinets you can use creams and whites together a lot in decor, but with cabinetry it's harder to swing it; so I'd paint. Brick-up to you. Will look ok whether painted or not, or so I feel. Maybe start with the build ins then decide about brick. You also will probably have your backsplash by then..will help you decide if the backsplash is patterned for example-I'd be tempted to paint the brick more It's not a lot of brick too, so whatever you decide-easier....See MoreHow do I update my split-level?
Comments (9)I would change the siding to a darker gray board and batten. Remove the shutters and paint the window trim, including the bow window, black. Change the front door to a stained wood, along with the garage door and porch railing. Add a modern black light fixture and 4" modern black house numbers stacked vertically to the left of the door. Paint the downspout to match the brick....See MoreHow to update my Ranch home to have a more modern look
Comments (3)Wow I must say the Sage green looks beautiful on your house and I also believe it would go with my roof perfectly. Unfortunately, I've looked into my HOA and I don't have that color but on the other hand I've seen a few houses in my community with colors close to yours that's not on HOA rules so it might just be out-of-date, I'll ask first. thanks...See MoreMake 70s ranch home modern on the exterior?
Comments (7)I agree with removing the shutters. The curb appeal would be greatly enhanced by adding shrubs of different types and shapes and different shades of green and different leaf shapes, punctuated by colored perennials (in the colorways you like.) I like big brass house numbers, it tells people, "I want you to find my house!" Can you put up some more photos taken from further back so we can see more of the front yard and your driveway? What part of the country are you in? What gardening zone? Other Houzzers are much better than I at house paint colors. I am wondering if instead of those strict straight lines for the concrete in front of the house, if a curved area might be prettier, and on the concrete you could have some nice potted plants, and nice landscaping on the grassy side of the concrete. Maybe a small table and a couple of chairs with an outdoor rug on the concrete if you enlarged the concrete area a bit, and you could make a small pergola extending out from the roof, and you could hang a couple of plants from the pergola. Then it would look somewhat welcoming to neighbors. Even if you don't like your neighbors, it would be welcoming to you every time you drive home....See Morejdpwoodward .
