Thanks Dawn. I wish I could see it, but it's clouding up here and looks suspiciously like rain (our first in a couple of months) - the forecast did call for showers here on the coast beginning maybe this evening and lasting into morning.

I don't remember now if it was last year or the year before, but I set an alarm, got up and grabbed a quilt and went out to the deck to my chaise - lay there and watched the meteors. Just me, very quiet, and lots of fun. When I'd counted a few and began to feel a little damp from coastal night air, I came back in, went back to bed.

I heard a radio report about viewing that pointed out the the moon is quite bright right now and will hamper viewing. IF the moon were in a darker phase, you would be able to observe many more meteors.

Morz, I remember one summer not long ago that we saw 100s of meteors. The last couple of years not so much. I hope this will be a good one.

Kath, we have a couple more hours before it's fully dark here. I'll be sitting out on the deck later with an adult beverage to see what kind of a show passes overhead.

Too cloudy last night...I'll try again tonight

I was outside a few times and didn't see a thing. Maybe tonight will be better.

I forgot and went to bed. Something woke me at a little after 3:00, so I went outside and watched for a bit. To much light in our area, but I saw a few, then went back to bed.

My sister is vacationing in Italy and texted us that the show was magnificent...not so hot here in CT, too cloudy. Will try again tonight....

I'm happy that a few people saw something. Rita, dreaming you did is almost as good as the real thing in my mind. Sometimes dreams seem more real than real life!

I checked again around 2 am last night, but by then the sky was very cloudy and could only see a few very bright stars out. I gave up.

Went again last night with a neighbor to look thought I caught a glimpse of one and he did too before the clouds moved in in earnest. Later I went out in my yard to look and saw one, but that was it.
