Oh, you must not have smelled them! That being said, I know people who either don't smell well or don't see it as a reason to buy a plant.

The amount of pests you've shown in the photos shouldn't really affect the plant that dramatically. The withering could, as already suggested, be from the pesticide used. Or it could be a reaction to the changed conditions between the shop and your house. They often grow as epiphytes so need light, very fast draining soil and be kept moist with high air humidity. Indoors that can be a bit of a challenge. However, the pests that are on the plant won't be helping it and should be removed.

I wish I had the answer for you...I've had some issues ( similar but different) that some of my magnifica leaves had also. I sprayed mine with Bonide all season horticultural oil. Unfortunately, a few weeks go after I watered it I accidentally left it in full sun for a few hours and sunburned a lot of the leaves...**sigh** its in the shade now but a lot of the leaves shriveled up and has fallen off. The hort. oil has helped but not sure if that is what you are dealing with? Have you seen any bugs on yours?
