Here's my 'outside'.......

A quick snap looking out the master windows earlier this morning.

I kill two birds with one stone ( not that I ever would) by combining Dining and Outdoors. Here's my little table on my little patio.

It's a beautiful, breezy day here on the lake. You can just make out a sailboat between the two pine trees.

You guys are killing me. Since I don't have a glorious vista or cute getaway, I'll show my new outside lights, new exterior paint, and new house numbers (outside, duh).

I didn't realize there would be another thread for Day 5, so this is a duplicate photo of a portion of our backyard. Taken a couple of months ago when lots of things were blooming.

Loving all these photos. My list of projects is growing.

I also have an almost 3month old chicken that is partially blind- Stevie Ray Ray. If anybody has any advice for raising a special needs girl??

Wow - you all have such lovely outdoor spaces. Sadly, mine isn't much to look at. This was a few springs ago; my Lady Banks Roses had a good year.

Torry, what wonderful photos of the birds. Where do you live? I have bluebirds that nest 2-3 times every year in my funky bird box.

Thanks Linelle - We're in Savannah, Ga. I believe we had three "batches" of bluebirds this year. I sat and watched for hours to see the last two babies fledge. We just started getting the goldfinches a couple of years ago.

Swallows used to nest in my box and the feisty little bluebirds got there first a few years ago and have held their ground against the larger and more numerous swallows. Mom and dad are an awesome tag team.

Peppapoodle - I was enjoying looking at your chickens-and-coop undertaking, and then noticed your question about Stevie Ray Ray. I think we have just the place for advice here on the GW! Go over to the Kitchen Table forum, where there are a lot of people who are rural and are experienced with animals beyond our usual dogs and cats.

One woman in particular, whom I don't feel comfortable naming, specializes in special needs ferals and domestic farm animals. She will know what to do. (if she sees your post)

Be sure to title your post so that it's clear you're asking about a semi-blind chick!

This is my backyard. My wall is sitting on the scaffold. It will look the wall in the yard to the left (it was similar but in need of help).

IdaClaire - really liking the pattern of the brick on your patio. Any story to go with it (it is a bit unusual - and you do see a lot of patio bricks in my yard.)

Here are the left and right sides of my back hill. I'd really love to share pictures of my new pool which was supposed to be done MAY 31 but it is STILL not done. So, alas.

I'm about to introduce her group to the flock & I don't want her to get picked n or feel left out.

The backyard was the one space I couldn't figure out. A fantastic landscape designer helped and it started with this deck.

Coming from California, I'm impressed with how much space many of you have. We're 1,500sqft on a 5,300sqft lot and feel lucky!

Meanom, the brick pattern was just sort of chosen at random. We had brick laid over our existing and ugly concrete slab awhile back and are so glad we did that. Makes the patio a much nicer place to spend time.

Lars - Could you please tell me what those gorgeous flowers are (the ones in close-up)? What kind of growing conditions do they need? They are so pretty!

Linelle - That picture of Zephyr juxtaposed with the exterior light fixture is wonderful. I think I 'd enlarge it and frame and hang it. It feels both artistic and serene! And, since it contains a cat, also amusing!

Sable, I tell my friend the same thing: Print it, frame it, hang it on your wall. I have literally hundreds (perhaps thousands) of photos of Zeph and his twin sister. Crazy lots of photos. That you like this one enough to mention it is very cool. Thank you.

I'll play. I'll try to catch up on the other photos on the appropriate threads. With the exception of the immediate photo below (you'll guess why I'm including it), I'll try to keep this to my new build, not my current legal residence.

I missed the other days, so I'll start with outside ...

My yard

Artemis, we have suffered the loss of several of our perennials due to the deer here. They abound in the woods behind our house and despite the coyote pee that DH spreads around the perimeter of our landscaped yard, they continue to feast!

Wow!!! Such gorgeous yards, patios and homes!!!

Garden beds, tomatoes from earlier this spring. Most of the larger tomatoes are about done, but the cherry ones are still producing.

Of course, the best reason to be outside, especially last week when the weather was great, not too hot and humid.

Here's my north/hosta garden in one of its better incarnations.

St. Francis lost his head in an accident and has moved on to a more Heavenly garden. I've not yet found the right "thing" to replace him. I want a smiling, happy St. Francis but most of them appear to be very serious and a bit dour.

We finally had air conditioning installed so a small bit of the right side of this garden was usurped by the cement footing and large heat pump compressor.

Having A/C is such a blessing.
