I picked up a pair of these plants as 4" plants at my local nursery last summer and to my surprise they bloomed the first year. I planted them in my perennial bed this spring and though I've had to stske them because moles caused some problems, I quite like the flowers. My concern is their size and I wonder whether they will quickly expand in width and gobble up too much space. I hope not because I really like the flowers. This photo is culled from the web

From my garden - lots of flowers!

There is some appealing reasons to grow them. Mainly I like that it's a long blooming plant with a nice yellow color. Here's another reason: Ratibida pinnata is a valuable food source for native bees. Wasps, beetles, flies and butterflies also visit the flowers. Plants host caterpillars of Silvery Checkerspot butterflies and of several moths. Goldfinches eat the seed.
