Nothing is more satisfying than finding art that speaks to you!!!!

I have three framed prints of my favorite floral artist in my kitchen (Christie Repasy) and they make me smile - and also have inspired me to learn drawing and flower painting.

So beautiful! I love them! They are perfectly hung.

I also have art in my kitchen, and even made the cabinets on either side of my cooktop asymmetrical to allow for a small feature wall and a painting. I was thrilled when I found the painting in a local gallery for all the reasons that you knew your birds would be just right. It's a critical part of my whole enjoyment of the space and one of the first things you see when you walk in my front door.

ETA: I totally agree with your recommendation to hang decent art in kitchens and bathrooms. I'm an artist myself and have worked in framing and conservation most of my life. Though a delicate work on paper that is improperly mounted will likely ripple if hung in a bathroom (or on an outside wall for that matter) and an encaustic painting will obviously melt if you hang it near a boiling pot of spaghetti, most other mediums are hardy and resilient if you use common sense to treat them with care. I was doubly thrilled to find the oil painting that hangs just to the left of my cooktop - it looks great and it meant I had no choice but to splurge on the Miele hood vent with con@ctivity (not sure if I've spelled that right) that comes on automatically so that I'm sure to use it when I cook. Lol! I'm sure the pairing will still need to be cleaned from time to time but the vent is fabulous.

Such a pretty fit! I'm curious -- what's the colour of your cabinetry?

Cabinets are SW "Repose Gray". I struggled with this color as, in certain lights, it can go "griege" and even look a bit pink! When I did the walls, I had the Repose Gray mixed 1/2 strength and the magenta left out. I also used VERY white woodwork to make the color grayer. Only in the brightest afternoon light (kitchen gas full West exposure) does it go a bit pink. I can live with that. By the time I discovered that there was a tiny bit of magenta in the color, it was too late to do a custom color - uppers had already been painted.

I knew I wanted a gray kitchen - not because it was trendy but because it works with the rest of the house. I adore all-white kitchen but in this room I'd need my Maui Jim's to walk into such a room when the leaves are off the trees and it's late winter/early spring. It would be blinding. I tried custom Roman blinds on the bay when we had it put in 33 yrs ago - they yellowed and hot dusty sting very quickly. No curtains p/blinds in a kitchen for me!

yes, I DID obsess over this kitchen for months to get it "right"! This is the only new kitchen I'll ever do in my life -none before - and I'll be 74 in a couple of months. Had to be right....

Well I'd like to see more photographs. I experienced a similar "quest" in search of a sage or mossy green.

They are lovely - evoking the perfect feeling for your room.

I'm looking forward to "commissioning" artwork from my 18 yo daughter when our remodel is finished. I enjoy her artwork. :) (Sorry, not great photos)

Those prints are lovely and look perfect in your space. I know the feeling when you put the right piece(s) of art in the right space. There's no doubt. You can virtually hear the playing of the perfect chord.
