Is this plant 'Tiny Tuff Stuff' or 'Tuff Stuff'?
Comments (8)Speaking of rooted cuttings...last year I bought 2 Pinky Winkies that were basically rooted cuttings. They were small sticks w/a few roots. I bought them from Lowes bc they were only 15$ each. This year they are already up to my chest-full beautiful shrubs. I planted them last June! The problem is my Pinky Winkies are actually Quickfires! They look great though. I bought 2 other PWies that I think are turning out to be Little Lambs (they have pink stems but are staying shorter and the bloom last year looked more like LL). And 1 of my larger Quickfires I bought from a good nursery doesn't have any buds yet despite all my other QFers budding up already so I'm waiting to see what that one actually is. Mislabeled plants are so annoying yet seems to happen often!...See MoreLandice Treadmill and Tuff Stuff Total Gym-Anyone have either?
Comments (3)Look up "total trainer",,,I wanted the Total Gym really bad with pilates,,price was like $1500 for real one versus QVC version, so after a lot of research I found them,,they are out of Lousiana somewhere,,my owner's manual says www.total-trainer.com,,from Bayou fitness 800/230-1256,,,anyway they have many different quality levels and configurations and I'm not kidding when I say I got great quality,,since I went with the highest price pilates one they make that is combo of total gym with the pilates accoutraments so I can do both for $500 including shipping. Everything was included and didn't nickle/dime you on other accessories...really glad I got it,,had video etc. and I read reviews of it,,mine has the glides that are chrome so it's quiet,,take a look at website.. glad I found this forum since I'm usually on decorating forum!!...See MoreTiny Tuff Stuff
Comments (14)NHBabs, northwest of Chicago. Like Luis, I add compost and fertilizer, but some hydrangeas even if deemed zone 5, just refuse to make it more than one season (Abracadabra Star was one). I bought All Summer Beauty online because it's impossible to find at a nursery here and my friend swears by the abundant blooms of it. My first time ordering and they are LITTLE!! Hoping these can be companions to my endless summer or I'm going to have to go with a small paniculata or oak leaf....See MoreWhat's wrong with my Tiny Tuff Stuff hydrangea?
Comments (6)The summer sun here is quite strong so I suggest making sure it gets shade starting around 11am (no afternoon sun). No evening sun either. Transplant it if it is getting more sun than that. My shrubs have handled 110+ temps in prior years with little leaf damage but they got zero afternoon/evening sun (only bright shade) and were already established by the time the 110s hit. Also, since it is a new shrub planted in the summer, give it even more shade with a chair/umbrella/etc and give it more water than in the Spring. I give mine 1g in the Spring; 1.5-2g in the summer per watering. During the daily 100s, I water 3 times a week, provided a finger inserted to s depth of 4" fels dry. Add 2-3" of mulch year around past the drip line to further help the plant. And watch for leaves browning from the edges inwards, an indication that they need more water. The round leaf spots can be ignored for now but are usually common issues due to overhead watering so, as a precaution, water the soil always, never the leaves. To remove ugly leaves, cut the petiole that connects the leaf to the stem. Hydrangeas get stressed when planted after late May here so continue giving it TLC and check it often in its first few summers. I have been looking for a TS/TTS locally. Where are you and where did you find yours?...See Morerouge21_gw (CDN Z5b/6a)
