track lighting vs. single light

I'm hoping this is a good and appropriate place to post my question. I am at a loss as to what to do and design is not my strong suit.
We have a very dark basement, with no natural light. There is a ceiling fan with four spotlight LED bulbs, plus two tracks with 4-6 LED lights. We can change direction on all of them. But, the thing is, I really don't like the fixtures themselves, how they cast light in beams, and replacing bulbs is a real pain. However, I want the room to be as bright as possible. I have no idea, but wonder if getting three different fixtures that are not track is an option. This is a 100 year old house and redoing lighting (i.e., recessed or other lighting) is not an option, or at least not an option that I want to get into at this time. We have to go with the electrical that is already there - three lights and three light switches, they can have dimmers.

So, bottom line question - What type of lighting/fixtures will give me the best overall light in the basement. The room is approximately 14' x 23'.

Thank you for your suggestions and information!
