Couch comes out past an opening. Can I make it look better?

I'm moving into my great aunt's house for a while, which is killing me because I can't make any major structural changes.

Anyway, I am trying to rearrange the living room to be more in line with what I'm used to--one thing I'm pretty much set on is wall-mounting the TV. I like to hide my A/V equipment in a closet and let the TV float on a wall. I've obtained permission to do that much.

However, this living room was designed with exactly one place to fit a couch--and it faces a window on an exterior wall. For some reason, when I planned this in my head, I dramatically underestimated how deep a couch is. The placement I had in mind makes the couch protrude out past an opening into another room room by a couple feet, which looks weird (to me).

Is there anything I can do to make this look more natural, short of putting the couch back in its original home (opposite where it is in the photo)? Thank you,

Michael
