I would say yes, it looks like it. Pulling it seems to be a good idea, although, from my personal experience, will not solve the problem.

I would suggest digging deep and wide to have a reasonable chance of complete removal.

I love this flower growing in drifts along a stone wall here in the country. I wouldn't want it in my flower bed though.

I would also agree, both with the confirmation and the suggestion of digging rather than yanking. Definitely don't let it go to seed, but the whole plant needs to be removed without leaving any root bits behind. It has little tendrils and a taproot that looks a bit like a white carrot. The taproot absolutely has to come out, and you want to leave behind as few of the little white roots as possible.

Thanks very much, all of you. I appreciate the advice about digging wide and deep, and not just yanking the roots as it's clear from what you've said I will only get replication of the plant. It sounds like it's going to be quite a job because it is next to a dry-laid stone retaining wall. I will be sure to bag every scrap of plant material and dispose of it in the trash.
