Can I plant a 30cm long Aloe stem deeper into soil?
Comments (8)Live dangerously. Re-pot it, deeper, and cover the bare stem with soil. Perhaps it will grow roots from the stem and be better off. Some plants can take planting more deeply and others can't. And some you think couldn't possibly cope, but then someone tries it and... VOILA! I know of a case where some pot-bound Eucalyptus were planted very, very deeply (up to their necks) along a river bank. They were tubestock, left in their pots for too long, and should have been thrown out. However, it is very good that they were planted by someone who wanted to give it a go, because now they are stabilising that river bank. The covered stems grew roots (adventitious roots) and it worked very well. Then they all got married and lived happily ever after....See MoreWhat can i grow with my aloe vera plant?
Comments (2)Kurite, Q1 - Yes, an FAQ is furnished in the link - you can feed it per those instructions. You can plant other plants, but you'll want to make sure they have similar/same culture requirements. Kalanchoe pumilla and Crassula tetragona are two that come to mind, but there are scores more. Comments (4)gal can clarify this .. if she wishes ... mites are mites.. you use a mitecide on them ... i dont think the are insects ... so many insecticides wouldnt work on them ... same with these creepy crawlers ... they are not mites.. so it doesnt surprise me.. that a mitecide didnt work ... eh??? so.. now the you have the ID.. you can find the right product ... ALL products are labeld with info about such ... i used to have a systemic granular insecticide around .... which was mixed and watered into the top inch of soil ...... as i would put all mu houseplants outdoors for summer .. and about a month before it would be time to bring them in the house ... i would treat all the pots ... so i was bringing in clean pots .... now days.. many peeps might sneer at this type of product ... but also.. many peeps cant sleep at night knowing creepy crawlers are in the house ... and are will to go full all out war .. lol ... all the power to both types ... just make sure you use the right product.. appropriately .... ken ps: anyone??? could you use a horticultural soap.. as a soil drench .. hope they come squirming out .. like we used to do.. hunting worms with dish soap ... or did i dream that .. lol ... and just to be clean.. dish sopa is a detergent.. not a hort soap ......See MoreMt Gardenerlady
