Advice Needed Badly For Choosing Recliner For COPD Patient
Comments (5)If you do not turn uo a good second hand lift chair which I think is a good idea, buy an Ashley one from a reasonably competent retailer. It will come with a warranty and they can ship out parts. Quiz your retailer about their who does repairs for them. Don't buy if no one in store knows about the serial number location. Consider the MFS warranty. That company has paid us to trade out leather chairs kids wrote on and pub stools people rubbed the stain off the stretchers of. You must keep your paperwork right and all that as they ARE a warranty company but MFS seems the least pain of the bunch. Far as favorite recliner? Meh. Like most new cars the ones I see look competitive with one another....See MoreNeed some encouragement, badly!!!
Comments (6)Carol, I should clear up the fact that we are not patching the roof, but replacing. We actually have old tin on our roof with nothing under it and poor insulation. We have been remodeling on a shoestring since I'm laid off and DH has little work. My husband is very qualified to do the job, he has worked construction for years and worked for another home contractor after that, plus he has done contracting on the side. He knows what he is doing, and I'm a third generation diy'r. My mother remodeled so many homes when I was growing up that I thought everyone's house smelled like fresh paint when they moved in. LOL. But I do have great news!!!!!!!! A neighbor, and God bless him and his wife, bought a manlift for his contracting business. Do to the fact that he has a day job and business is slow (and he has a generous heart), he decided to let us rent the lift for 500$ and we can use it as long as we need it. This is actually working out very well. My husband was off all of last week due to the wet weather and soggy ground, so we got 1/4 of our roof done. That is a huge improvement. And - no more leak!!!! We actually got more done in two days than we did in two weeks using a ladder to get on the roof. I couldn't be happier. We are finally making progress and with generous friends and neighbors, we will get the roof done. I can't wait to post some pics for showing off. It already looks great. I have to say sometimes God does answer prayers with a really loud "yes"....See MoreBadly in need of layout help
Comments (18)Don't know if this is better or worse but here's an idea for you. I moved the working portion of the kitchen to the L perimeter with an island with 2 seats. The pantry is an 18" deep x 48" wide x 84" tall cabinet. It offers 42 sq ft of storage. I estimated the fridge depth at 36". I tallied up the cabinets in your plan and added 15" overhang to arrive at 156" that I could use for the long arm of the L. No idea how accurate this is or if it's possible to expand the counter a bit more to allow for 36" between sink and range. It would be helpful to know exactly where the front door is - or where the window on the other wall is, for that matter. You wrote that the window on the entry wall is TBD. What about the window on the other wall? Can that be moved? It would be helpful to see more of your first floor....See MoreIs our "interior designer" bogus? Advice badly needed.
Comments (7)A valuable, albeit expensive lesson learned. What does your contract say about returns? And there is a significant difference between "interior designers" and "interior decorators". https://newschoolarch.edu/academics/schoolofdesign/bachelor-of-interior-design/interior-designer-and-decorator/ In Connecticut, interior designers must be licensed and are defined as follows: " Sec. 20-377k. Definitions. As used in this chapter: (1) “Commissioner” means the Commissioner of Consumer Protection; and (2) “interior designer” means a person qualified by education, experience and examination who (A) identifies, researches and creatively solves problems pertaining to the function and quality of the interior environment; and (B) performs services relative to interior spaces, including programming, design analysis, space planning and aesthetics, using specialized knowledge of non-load-bearing interior construction, building systems and components, building codes, equipment, materials and furnishings; and (C) prepares plans and specifications for non-load-bearing interior construction, materials, finishes, space planning, reflected ceiling plans, furnishings, fixtures and equipment relative to the design of interior spaces in order to enhance and protect the health, safety and welfare of the public." There is no definition or licensing requirements for people to call themselves interior decorators. The Certified Interior Decorators International association awards CID (Certified Interior Decorator) designations to people who have taken their on-line program that generally takes 2-6 weeks to complete and have successfully passed their 50 question exam....See MoreJudyG Designs
