Thank you for the reply We chose to purchase the wfw9400s in white because of the porcelain top feature. Not sure what Whirlpool is up to in regards to the marketting of the machines. It seems as though all their advertising is geared to the diamond dust colour. Not sure if this feature is an exclusion for just the Canadian consumer. It is something to consider when purchasing the machines in the U.S.. Do all colours available have a porcelain top or at the very least baked paint on steel? I would have had no issues in paying the extra dollars knowing that the price increase was solely based on the colour choice. It is evident in all washing machines on the market today that colour equates to a price difference. It may be that Whirlpool was unable to satisfactorily apply the paint on the porcelain. hi babbie. yes I have a seam. I went to the fabricator's and helped them put the template on the stone. So the biggest work area is unseamed. The template went across the entire slab and down the side. here's a photo and where the counter curves in is the seam. From the seam to the corner is 100 inches. So that's pretty much the whole slab without any seam.: Here's a photo of the seam close up. You can always see a seam. It's there. And for some reason instead of doing a straight line, the fabricator put a notch in it. I didn't ask why because I knew the most important area would not have a seam. And that's what I mostly cared about. here's the smaller piece between stove and fridge. (I don't love the white appliances but they were in good condition and this is only a weekend home so I just kept them.) This last photo you can see the smallest section where the seam is right near the back entrance so I curved it in and left space for a garbage pail and put a wine rack to hold up the end of the granite. I'm still waiting on some back ordered pulls, my lights and that damn missing door. Soon!!!

Thank you so much. It was suggested to us to consider since we want to use our floor tile cut into diamonds for our backsplash since we have so much of it leftover. That would provide a contrast rather than a matchy matchy look. My cabinets are a little darker than a honey oak but not reddish like a cherry would be. The tile has grey and beige in it. The grantie guy thought it would look really nice and we could incorporate some of the granite into the blacksplash for accent. The Verde Peacock (?) would do the same but go towards the green and bring out the beige in the tile. Need to consider both.

The paint color might not be a perfect choice with the granite, but I don't think it looks terrible with it. Especially since once the granite is installed, I think it it will probably just read dark grey or black being a flat horizontal surface. Here's a mock up of your two tiles. This doesn't really address the swirl patterns in the tile which someone mentioned might be busy because the mockup is not to scale. I put the wood color twice to be like the base cabs and uppers. Paint at the top and a just a sliver of the granite since that's more how you see it. As far as color goes, of the two choices, I like the left one better. But I still think you can find something that ties everything together. The limestone, on right, looks way too pinky to me. It is really difficult to judge though since we are not seeing in person. Just for fun, here it is with the more rich color wood and granite that someone posted above. I happened to have saved a kitchen and it was near your mockup picture in my photos. I thought hmm, I wonder what that backsplash would look like with your finishes. Ehhhh, not loving it, but I like that it seems to have some of the subtle grey blue in the counter and the grey green color of your paint mixed. Here was the original kitchen I snipped it from.
