First Bloom of the Season
Comments (18)wow, that first daylily is a bright one.and you lucked out with 3 at once.I like that Iris STARRING. Looks like it has a hat on it, or maybe my eyes are just shot after being on this computer until nearly 4am and back on it most of this afternoon, trying to figure out why my printer won't work with this new pc.Was trying toprint out a letter, and just couldn't get it to work.My Manual was no help either, so I went on line searching to find a answer.Found several things and both said the printer is not compatible with windows 7,so guess now,I need a new 3 in 1 printer. Comments (15)Hi Linda and thanks hon. I can't wait until we can post bunches, can you? Julia, I think it opened very well. Usually ( sometimes ) a new one will have some trouble opening for me. I think it must be how my weather changes all the time.. Actually, it isn't your screen, it was my camera that made it look so pale. The next ones should have more pizazz..Hehehe!! Thanks!! Blue23rose, I was really excited about this first bloom. Then I went around and found scapes on a lot of mine from years before and some on never before bloomed seedling. I am excited, Thanks! Thank you Jan, I can hardley wait.. I have other stuff blooming but the ds are what I wait for. The Iriseswere right pretty this year and smelled divine BUT, they don't compare, do they? Michelle, I hope to post a lot and I will see some of yours, I'm sure. Thank you Jean but that isn't a true color. It was a pale yellow but not that white looking. I hope to get a truer pix soon... Thank you all for your replies...Ellie...See MoreFirst Mango Bloom of the 2009-2010 Season
Comments (138)Had the pleasure of a guest from this forum to my house today. Lycheeluva and I did an extensive walk thru the yard checking for new developments.....especially on the lychee front. It looks like the rest of the mangoes that have not bloomed, are almost all beginning to push their annual buds. Yes, even the miraculous Chou Anon is going to now bloom. There's no point in deliniating any further between the next to bloom. The late varieties such as Keitt, Neelum, Kent and even Valencia Pride haven't begun pushing bloom as of yet, but they will be shortly. I am also awaiting bloom on a couple of mango seedlings that I have never had fruit from. Mangoes survived the freeze very well here and we should have a very heavy crop (barring any more ridiculous Arctic oscillations). As trees set their crops I'll post pictures....See MoreFirst of the season blooms from my Michigan garden :)

Jasmine, thanks I am really have fun with the close ups I can take with the phone camera, I can just get lost in the details. Hareball, I think I am just lucky with naturally good soil, I do use Miracle Gro sometimes too. I would like to experiment with fertilizers but just get so busy that they are lucky if the get a dose or two of MG throughout the season....See Moreceleste/NH
