OK on the caps. Best guess-make sure the soil gets somewhat dryish before watering it again. Hold off any other fertilizers-I read you used soil with time release fertil. If this went into shock--if it's a bad shock all the leaves will drop. If only partially it might have just dried out some. One more question, is it a bush from the base or trained as a standard (think lollypop)? Tropical plants often drop their old leaves about the time new growth is put out. Sometimes it's gradual, othertimes it's most of them. As long as you have new growth on them I wouldn't worry. kevin p.s. we call that plant orange jasmine. It's not really a jasmine but is related to the Curry Leaf Tree.

I have some Dahlias coming and I chose shorter growers to place in pots. I also have 2 in the ground that have come back for a few years now They are taller and need staking. I dont dig mine up in southern Oregon. Survival of the fittest. The ones in the ground were from the grocery store so inexpensive. But, they have been very nice Dahlias. I have heard that Dahlias like a lot of compost so I am going to try adding more to the pots.

Well, I stand corrected. I've never put Sunpatiens to that level of a test, so I just sort of generally summarized what would be bad for most plants. I have had great success with sunpatiens in less stressful conditions, they are quite resilient regardless. But so are ordinary impatiens, or at least that has been my experience. But not in the hot rocky TX sun, that I can't comment on . . . ironically I have the opposite problems, damp shade.

Congrats on the newest addition to the family. Nice to see snowdrops blooming. We too have had quite a difference in weather this year here in our area. The most snowfall has been around 5 inches and the temps dipped down into the teens. We've gotten the mix of rain/sleet and then snow/sleet and then just rain. Windstorm has been howling here since yesterday and continues today. Our heating system went out last week and final repair won't be completed till tomorrow. So much for having a new house which is now 3 years old.. Another snow event later in the week but not sure yet how much we may get from that storm. One thing I will say, the snow events we had in NYS was greater in volume so when we start to complain about the snow here, we remind ourselves just how much we had in NYS. On a brighter wildlife note, we live very close to the NCTC (National Conservation Training Center) here in Shepherdstown and they have an online Live view of the eagles nest there. The female eagle has just laid her 3rd egg .. Last year she laid 3 but the outcome was not good and very tragic. The eggs are due to hatch around mid March or so. Pic is of her rolling her eggs last night. I guess I've become a bird watcher. Keep safe all. Wild weather week ahead. Julia .
