Hi, we have the Traffic Master Allure in both bathrooms with no problems. I want to say it's been in there around 5+ years or so, can't remember exactly when we installed it. My daughter was a teen still living at home, and I have 2 sons using the downstairs shower now, one is 21, and the other 14 , and the floor is still holding up very well. I've never seen the peeling up of edges that I hear so much about, and it's the easiest floor to clean too. We're planning to install it in the kitchen soon also. Hope my experience helped you a little bit...

We are doing master bath remodel and previous owners had vinyl plank flooring laid over the concrete foundation-- the people who did the work said that if the baseboard is high enough (ours is about 3" of wood--not tile.. they said the vinyl plank was run to the baseboards and cut to fit then silicone caulk was used along that joint... So far have noticed no issues anyplace in house this was done--not just in bathroom... we are taking out all LVT in master suite and replacing it with 1 type of flooring for unified look after master bath is redone--since we can't get the type of flooring in there now--not made anymore-- they won't need to add a quarter round on top of the LVT... so as long as you are happy with how the LVT would look butting up to the ceramic tile baseboard--maybe you can do the same... IS the ceramic baseboard in good shape? Still tight?

I'm following because we are thinking about doing this in our kids'/guest bathroom since we have a good amount of leftover vinyl plank flooring from our downstairs area. If we can put off the bathroom project long enough, I want to see how it wears downstairs. When we purchased the house, the bathrooms had "groutable vinyl" squares which is kind of the worst of everything. New master bath remodel has tile and it's beautiful but already a month into it, I've got some grout cleaning concerns with the floor and I definitely can tell that it's colder than the vinyl squares (but so much nicer, of course). Our vinyl planks are long and much better looking and they suit the layout of the hall bath and they feel nice underfoot and clean up wonderfully and will save us a good amount of $ on install (besides already having them sitting here) BUT my worry is that we are sort of committed then once everything is installed. Maybe not so much if we decide not to do a floating vanity. I'd say we are 70% yes and 30% no on the vinyl planks at this point of our pondering. The price point on our house/neighborhood does not merit "fancy" finishings and we already have vinyl downstairs so the bathroom is not going to be a deal breaker, assuming it wears well over time. Ha ha - maybe I just convinced myself to to 80/20. Tile is surely a safer bet, though.

I'm not an expert but you should be able to put stuff on floating vinyl floors... right? My parents did vinyl planks in their basement and they have all sorts of heavy furniture on it. Couches, beds, heavy dresser, etc. I have it in part of my basement too and also have a big sectional, heavy TV cabinet, etc. The vanity will just be contacting it in four small spots where the feet are. I wouldn't think that would prevent it from expanding too much as long as you leave the requisite gap by the walls. I would take a close look at the installation instructions for the specific product you will be using and see if it says anything like that. Or ask someone familiar with the product. But in any case you are right that if you don't extend the floor under the cabinet it will look weird / unfinished. If you are 100% locked on the vinyl floors and that vanity, personally I would risk the expansion issues vs. leave a big gap around the vanity.
