Oldest DD is in a committed relationship but she nor he wants /talks about marriage and although they have a chihuahua, they say they don't want kids. :(

We have her pass along rescue pit/mix and he is a handful.

DH and I are retired and my DH does a lot of volunteer work with his free time. I run in the trails with some really good friends and go to the gym. I also walk my nieces dog 3 days a week as she and her DH are really busy with work and their 2 young boys. My sons are launched and doing well in their chosen careers but while they are both living with partners there won't be any grands for quite some time. My mom has severe Alzheimers and while she lives in an assisted living residence I care for her finances, etc.

I am from the middle of South Dakota. I was from ND but moved down here almost 20 years ago. I live in a town of about 40 people in a farming area. I always thought I would not want to live in a town this small, but I grew up on a farm and it is just like living on the farm. I am retired from working in the food industry most of my life. I am married and DH works for the county driving one of the blades to do the roads, and is a Viet Nam veteran. We have a son who is married and has 3 children and one granddaughter. He lives in Savanna Georgia. Our daughter lives by Holland MI. She is married and has 2 daughters and 1 son. I belong to the Roman Catholic church, the American Legion Auxiliary, a community club, and a CFEL club. I like to read, when I finish one book I am always looking for another, but now most of my reading is done on my kindle. I make rugs from old sheets. I hate shopping except in second hand store and I don't mind grocery shopping. I have been married for 43 years and a KT member since 2000

Susie53 from Central Indiana. We have been married 49 years. We are retired and enjoying life. I love my flowers. They are one of my favorite things. I also enjoy sewing. I really enjoy spending time with friends. I belong to our local Lion's Club, CWF at church, a gardening group and I work in our small town gardens in town. We have 8 grandchildren from ages 15 to 7 that we adore. I try to see them often. We have a home in the southern part of our state that we enjoy. We are beginning to have a few health problems but all in all things are good. We are grateful for each day.

I'm Pam and live near Fort Worth, Tx with my DH of 25ish years (women are supposed to remember this stuff). I work as a helpdesk analyst for a large corporation and I get to work from home. Hubby owns and operates a home improvement business. We raised my two kids who are both launched and self supporting. Our son and his dear wife have 3 year old twins, a girl and a boy and live about an hour away across the metroplex. Our daughter and her dear husband have 3 boys, ages 9, 3 and 6 months and live in central Oklahoma, so just a few hours away.

I enjoy gardening and outdoors in general. By osmosis so does my DH. We love water gardening and have materials to build our dream pond, just need the energy and finished plan to build it. We spend a lot of time either on the back patio or in the front seating area. It depends on whether we feel social, sitting out front kind of invites neighbors to drop by for a chat, not a bad thing unless you don't want to chat. Our home was built in the late 70s and the developer's master plan was to remove only as many trees as necessary to build the houses so it's quite wooded and shady from the mature post oaks. I love living in this fairly small town of 45,000. It's quiet at night and I hear owls, cicadas and tree frogs. We have fireflies too at night in the spring and summer. We also have deer, opossum, armadillo and raccoon that entice our dogs to bark at night, so occasionally it's less quiet.

We have two big shelter-adopted pit mixes, love them both to death except when their 'happy tails' break stuff or when they force their way past me at the front door. I am well aware that I can only blame myself for not training them better :-) We also adopted my late father in law's kitty Sebastian and he'll be with us until he crosses that famous rainbow bridge. He destroys the furniture with his claws despite having all manner of scratching posts so I always need new furniture but hesitate to take that plunge until he has passed on. I hope that didn't sound that I wish the cat would pass so that I could get a leather sofa, we truly love him. He's just the last cat for us.

I am Amazing Aunt Audrey here at the KT, have been here from the beginning. Came over on HGTV train lol. I live in Oklahoma with my daughter and her family. It's a recent move, and I have finally settled in. I also have a son who helped make the move possible. I am originally from California. I was an army brat so I have lived all over the US and abroad. I am a grandmother several times over they all call me Mia. I am a widow, I lost my hubby in 2001 the angels at the KT helped me through it. I have met several of the members here, I had high hopes of meeting many more. That probably won'the happen as my health limits my travels. I love the people here, they have truly been my rock.

Robin (hence the rob) from middle Tennessee. I grew up military and I've lived in the northeast, the south Pacific, the [West] Coast, and I am currently living where I've my parents and their parents, and their parents, etc. have lived since the 1800s. Our land was what is now downtown Nashville; the capitol sits on it. Have been married, but also been divorced for many years. I have a son who is about to enroll in university, currently a high school senior. He is a smart kid who keeps me in line and is going places. We'll see how he does. My educational background began in bio-chemistry, but ended in pre-law. I didn't go on to law school because I had a baby. My careers have been/are insurance brokerage (18+ years) and now medical research, going on 14 years, as an administrator (that means I speak and understand science, but I don't do the science work). I am STILL thinking about combining my education and work experience into a Jurisprudence in HealthCare law. Just bought a house on the lake and I am fixing it up and making it my own.

Jim lives with the missus in Spring Hill, Florida (about one hour's drive north of Tampa). We moved here February 2016 from central Illinois so that the missus would be warmer in the winter, the cat (Tony the Tiger) would have squirrels to watch and so that we could be close to cruising ports for last-minute cruises. The missus and I have been married for 21 years and have been on 35 cruises in that period.

I am Sandie from Frederick Md. I have three daughters and 7 grands. I am a widow having lost my husband in 2001. I am within 1.5 hours of all my daughters so get to see them fairly often. I live in a "courtyard home" which is a duplex located, of course, around a courtyard. Although not an over 55 community many of my neighbors are around my age (70) but many younger families live here also. A nice mix. I belong to a singles social group and we do some interesting things. I love to read especially medical and law mysteries. I have a cat who is a little terror but I love her anyway! Love to cruise and have two coming up.

I am from south GA - about as far south as you can get without hitting the FL line. Single mom to one son, a junior in college. I work in higher education and hope to retire in 7 years - can't wait! I love to read, play games (both online and off), color, jigsaw puzzles, and am just beginning to explore ways in which to be creative. I like working in my flower beds, but the south GA heat and humidity are intolerable. I've recently discovered I enjoy listening to podcasts, so I am always on the lookout for new ones, particularly for women over 50. I became a vegetarian about 2 years ago, but I really hate cooking so i'm always on the lookout for easy meals that don't take much time/effort. And I have 3 cats and 1 dog (shitzu who doesn't see or hear well). I inherited one of the cats and the dog (both are very old) when my dad passed away last year. The struggle for that "clean house sell" is real ;o)

Howdy! I'm EvaTX here, cause I live in a teeny east Texas town on Cedar Creek Lake. Can walk out the back door and jump into the lake...or fish. Great way to grow old. Hubby Ken went through a bad year last year...had pancreatic cancer, surgery, chemo and radiation. Lost about 30 pounds that have been hard to gain back. Last month oncologist said cancer is in remission. Yippee! All that's happened to him has taken a toll on his poor soon-to-be 80 year old body, though. He forgets his age and tries hard to do all the physical things he used to when healthy, and there's lots of upkeep with an older house, a large yard and boats, cars, and all other projects that occur living on the water. We have a 54 year old DD in Kingwood (north of Houston) with a 23 year old DD at A&M grad school & 21 year old DS who works at a Sam's Club. Our son, 49, lives in Katy (50 miles across town from DD) and has a wonderful wife and 3 step-children, DD 24 in grad school at U of H, DS 20, sophomore at Stephen F. University, and DS 30, who after a stint in the Navy, is attending U of H, along with his wife. They are parents of 3 year old Suzie Q, a real cutie pie who is my great-granddaughter. Son's 3 stepchildren fit into our family just as if they were born to us. Everyone's coming to our house for the 4th of July. Local country club has huge air show and fireworks display every year, and residents go over there in boats to watch. So fun! I read the saved past posts from everyone and brought back great memories. I've been here forever, I think!

Hi, I live in mid-TN for 20 years now, before that we lived in CT. My name is Mary. We have been married for almost 52 years. 3 daughters, one passed away 5 years ago & we know she is is heaven looking down at us everyday. 5 grand kids, 3 great grand kids & another one on the way. We owned a landscaping business & now we are enjoying our 22 acres in a very rural area. 2 very big dogs & 10 barn cats. Also have angus cows & a bull. Love to cook & bake so everything is from scratch. Have lots of gardens as I love color outside. Arthritis has slowed me down but as long as I can move I will continue to do what makes me happy.

Marilyn from Texas Gulf Coast. I live in a little town that doesn't even have a traffic light. No businesses. Two churches and a volunteer fire department, and a post office is all there is, but even tho I am off the beaten path....I am about 40 minutes from Houston, the 4th largest city in the nation, and about the same amount of time from Galveston.

I have been married to Jody for 51 years. He is a commercial shrimper. We have one daughter, married...no plans for children, and lives and works in Houston.

I rehab wildlife... mostly possums but also armadillos and squirrels sometimes. I have a baby raccoon that I am raising now.

I have 5 horses, two rescued from slaughter. Also 3 donkeys and a mule. Add to that more dogs and cats than I can count, a bunch of feral hogs, 2 pigeons, goldfish and koi.

That takes up most of my time but I also like to cook, raise water-lilies, and we are remodeling a 100 yrs old farm house, which is a never ending project.

But, you already knew all this about me. ;-)

Julie from Ontario, Canada. I live in a small town of 6,000 people. My DH and I are retired civil servants. We have one daughter and one son and have raised our son's son from birth, he is now 15. We have two Boston Terriers although, sadly, we will lose one soon due to cancer. I love to garden and spend much of my summer growing things while my husband plays golf. We live in a newer bungalow now but spent many years renovating an old Edwardian house from top to bottom. I read here every day but rarely post. I also hang out at he Decorating forum and Decorating Conversations and browse a lot of the garden forums too.

We live outside of Atlanta. We have moved all over the country with my husband's career and enjoy new cities. I have a son and daughter 18 and 22. I love art, travel, cooking, architecture, and photography.
