Compression Socks ?
Comments (5)My daughter had leg vein problems for several years after the birth of her son....uintil she finally had them stripped. Anyhow at various times during various treeatments whe wore those $200 compression knee sox.....that she deemed worse than not wearing them because they slid down and formed a touniquet around her leg! She tossed them and went with non perscription elastic panty hose....and made sure to put her feet up several times a day.....and to walk at least 10 minutes several times a day! Comments (14)Here's another pic of my sock knitting marathon! I've been using up all my left over wool to make these.I don't use a pattern as such, but knit the old fashioned way of adjusting my stitches and wool to the size of sock I need.My grandma taught me how to do this many moons ago. However, there are a kazillion patterns on the web for anyone doing a search. They're not that difficult once you get the hang of it. Comments (14)I have compression hosiery (panty hose type) that was suggested I wear post knee surgery when I was flying a lot. I bought them at a surgical supply place and they were fairly expensive, maybe around $50 iirc. I also have several pair of compression socks, both knee socks and crew length, that I wear for running longer distances. Big difference in the two types. The brand is CEP and they are a bit expensive, especially the knee socks but are very good. I also wear compression tights. For everyday wear, these would be good if you think you need something for your legs and most running stores carry them....See MoreHas anyone used Copper Arthritis compression gloves ?
Comments (7)I keep a pair of Handeze around. They aren't copper, but are just enough light compression to help without being bulky, restricting. I have arthritis at the base of both thumbs and find they really help when doing pruning, painting (holding a roller), chores like that. I have rather small hands (ring size 4) and this brand came in sizes that work for me - so I haven't looked into anything else. I originally got them from a Womens gardening tool catalog, but a long time ago. Handeze on Ebay, lightweight compression DH wears copper knee sleeves by Tommie Copper. He swears by them. I don't know if they help or not but he does better with his knees than he did decades ago, injured both in high school football. Even if the copper doesn't really help, if he thinks it does I'm not going to argue with him for no more than the knee sleeves cost ;0) A few years ago he re injured a knee falling over a tree. MRI showed a deep bone bruise, and an old meniscus tear, old ACL tear, and arthritis. He's never had surgery and stays really active, does a lot of hiking, so I'll keep ordering the Tommie Copper knee sleeves if they make him happy....See MoreBonnie
