please help us design our living room!
Comments (7)Beautiful space! If it were my room, I'd probably be inclined to put the TV on the wall you mention: to the right of the patio doors. It would keep the fireplace a visual focus when walking into the room, but still allow you to enjoy the view. Because of that, I would probably pick a sectional that runs along the right wall and then juts out into the room across from the fireplace. I'm a big fan of "bumper sectionals" since they don't have a back on the end. That would give a better line of sight to the fireplace. If you don't like sectionals, maybe a couch on the wall across from the patio doors / TV wall. Then two chairs facing the fireplace or a love seat if you prefer. I look forward to seeing what you do with the room....See MoreLiving room design, help please!
Comments (0)We are moving to a new place and I have a hard time designing the living room. As you see in the plan, there are two large Bay windows with sliding doors, both giving a very nice view to outside and open to terrace and garden, hence leaving us with three small walls, where we'd need to put the TV, a buffet and a piano. There is also this wall in the middle which is annoying but can't be removed (very costly). You see my first attempt at placing the furniture in the photo, but I think we can do better. A few notes: - We will buy new furniture so the size and type of sofas I put in the picture can vary. - The staircase next to the left wall is currently being built and leads to the lower floor. We hence need to put half walls around for protection. I think however that it will be too stuffy with those additional brick walls, how about glass walls? And what height would you choose (thinking of the baby who might climb the sofa and jump off!)? I put glass walls in my design for now. Any tips appreciated and look forward to your genuine ideas!...See MoreHELP WITH LIVING ROOM DESIGN PLEASE
Comments (10)This is how my living room looks from one view.... would like to make a few things clear -- my sofa is not grey. it is called 'stone' it's not white, beige, tan, or off white. it's a unique color. same with the rug. if you see these two in person they match either very well. not sure if that's a good or bad thing - like mentioned above, i used to have a blue and white patterned rug and dark coffee table with sofa and loveseat (i hated it and so did my partner) so unless you guys can link a really nice rug in the comments for me to purchase i have looked high and low for a better rug and couldn't find anything so i chose this. tv stand you see is in a weird position at the moment - but like mentioned above i'm getting a white modern tv stand similar to the one posted above. I have all this extra space to the left but I'm not sure how to utilize it -- one thing i'd like to say is that i am living in a rented apartment with my partner. please note that i do not wish to go all out and buy things just for this apartment. we'll probably move to a bigger/smaller place, lighter/darker space, and may not have stuff for extra stuff later on. i do not want to make my space look a particular way either (too glam/girly/too much pattern/texture/color) as i've been getting older i appreciate simplicity. my current situation may be too simple thoug and i agree...that's why i'm on here to get suggestions from you guys- we have decided that'll i'll hang an art piece most likely abstract art right above the loveseat. i'll get the white tv stand. i'll add either an end table with a lamp or a standing lamp but one that is more stylish. on my coffee table i'll put a round tray with some a candle/small plant/coasters. i'll add pillows of different sizes on the couches. any other adive - please kindly let me know. thanks. also, if you think i should rearrange my living room please drop ideas! thank you so much. sorry this was sooo long....See MoreColonial living room design/layout help please. 2 windows and 4 door
Comments (4)Hi. I've reproduced your room in a 3D build to help you visualize in a better way. To maintain a foot flow I have centered the sofa facing each other. You can add one or more swivel chairs which you can tuck away or corner them when not in use. Mounted tv on a wooden panel opposite the fireplace. This way it serves as a family room as well as an entertainment room. Perfect for a winter evening when it's too chilly to leave the fireplace but also wouldn't miss your favorite show. If you can get rid of the piano, you can place two chairs and a bookshelf and create a little reading space. Let me know if you would want me to work on more layouts. Always happy to help!...See Morewmsimons85
