what brand of lcd tv do you have? do you like it?
Comments (46)We just went from a 27" crt tv to a 42" LCD Emerson (bought at WalMart on Black Friday) for Christmas. We LOVE it. It's not even hooked up to HD, just DirecTV. We've only seen HD on it when I get a blu-ray from NetFlix. We really love the picture. We also got a Sony blu-ray player that can stream NetFlix. We got the 4 Monster HDMI cables (5 feet) on Black Friday for $10.00 each. We also got a Wii, which we also love. The bowling is so much fun. We will probably get a Wii Fit for it, too. When we get back to MN, we will get a 46" Sony Bravia or a 50" Sanyo plasma. Our tv has a refresh rate of 60, it works for us. And it cost $398 on Black Friday. The LED and the plasma have beautiful pictures, but the LED is a jump in price. I think they will drop though, as the stores push 3D more. The LED is noticeably brighter than the LCDs, to me. But they all look wonderful in the big sizes compared to a 20 or 26" CRT tv. Like being at the movies!...See MoreWhere do you keep your vacuum cleaner ?
Comments (25)Same with practigal up there, I have to keep a few smaller vacuums around the house because of my two cats. I love them to death, but they both shed enough to make a new cat out of the hair! What I generally do is keep my smaller vacuum downstairs in the little hutch our laundry supplies are in (it's hard to describe - imagine either a very big pantry or a very small laundry room) and keep one upstairs in the room with that exercise bike I never use. I don't know if that helps, but I remember some advice my mom gave me a long time ago - "you never want to store a vacuum near where you eat or sleep", and I think that's a pretty good call!...See MoreThose of You That Have A Little Time To Pass What Do You Like To Do
Comments (24)I'm busy from 3 a.m. until 9 p.m. Even though I'm retired, my whole day is filled with what I laughingly call "make work programs" which contribute to our healthy food sources (sprouting, growing wheatgrass, micro-greens, fermenting, a WindowFarm and an AeroGarden - for off-season indoor gardening), and I spend time researching food and food science on-line and working on lesson plans for classes I teach at different venues (Food Bank, Extension Office, Senior Center, 4-H Clubs, Women's Shelter). I make time each day to knit or crochet and for reading. I participate in two message boards on-line, and that's enough for me. I do bulk food preparation - cook once for many meals - so meals don't take much time to prepare, and our home food storage takes some time each day to make sure I track rotation, use, and inventory. I like to try three new recipes each week and like to try new foods and ingredients. The great outdoors takes a big chunk of time during garden season. At least an hour of exercise 5 mornings a week from 4-5 a.m. - in our basement and/or outdoors. I've finally cut back on my volunteering so I can spend more time at home doing things I enjoy. jemdandy - My last PC was a reconditioned business model and I got it inexpensively through hubby works. Comments (0)Seriously thinking about buying the LG LSG4513ST gas range. Anyone have one in their home? How do you like it? Seems to be good reviews everywhere, just want to hear from someone who actually uses it before I commit to this big purchase. TIA!...See Morerockybird
