Need help with dining room paint color
Comments (16)i think a gold/tan color that is similar to the curtains might look great! if you try the pashmina, be sure to look at it in all different light/times of day--- it definitely had a pink undertone on the samples on my walls. (a deepish purple might look nice with the black and gold too... tho would be alot less traditional!) removing the sheer panels might update your window without having to remove the valance... and allowing the side panels to fall straight might also help the treatments look less dated... i don't think removing the valance will give you a look you like......See MorePlease help! Comments (1)Take a look at Sherwin WIlliams Believable Buff. It's a nice neutral golden tan & not too dark or light....See MoreNeed help determining paint color in dining room
Comments (17)There is not any wainscoting below the chair rail and to be honest, I'm not sure what the color on the walls is currently. It's quite dark and dreary and was painted by previous homeowners. I actually matched the the trim paint and painted below the chair rail a few months ago in an effort just to brighten the space up until we decided what we wanted to do with the room. We do have a formal living room on the other side of the foyer but there is not another room that is off of the dining room. There is the hallway and kitchen on other side and that opens to the breakfast nook and family room. The wall color throughout our entire house is beige. Again, I don't know the exact color as it's how it was when we bought the house. This room does get a lot of natural daylight in the morning but the afternoon sun hits the back of our house and the dining room doesn't receive any of the sun then. However, we do live in the South and get a lot of sunny, clear days. We did look at quite a few reds last night and trying to determine one that would look good. I love blue and was really trying to lean that way but I couldn't find one that I liked with the rug. Every one I looked at was either too bright or too subdued and couldn't seem to find a middle ground. Someone had mentioned BM Pomegranate which seems like it may be a good fit for the room. We looked at Rustic Red and Sun-dried tomato by SW and they seemed to blend in well....See MoreLooking for help with Paint color for kitchen/dining room
Comments (16)@BethH- yes we have the hardwood throughout the house but ceramic tile plank in the kitchen. Thanks for the advice...you think it's ok to paint both kitchen and dining room the same color? or would you go a shade or 2 darker in dining (that was advice I was given, but I am happy to have same color in both rooms if it looks ok..)...Re: the cabinets: it's been an issue between my husband and I- I would love to paint the cabs, he only likes cabinets that "look like real wood" (even if it is hideous;) We don't have budget for new or refacing cabinets at this time...so Im stuck with it for now...will continue to push for painting them though :)...See Morebixa2805
