Please help with color selection for Living Room and Dining Room
Comments (31)I'm really liking the Capitol White. I think it would look really good in the living/dining area. Here is one picture of some sample boards. Not really large enough to show context, but it works with the space. My concern is I think it might not play nice with the color in the kitchen. Truth be told, I'm not in love with the kitchen color but I don't want to repaint. I've uploaded a photo of the sample boards in the kitchen. Last picture of downstairs bedroom. The plan would be whatever color is in the living room/dining area would flow up the stairwell. So I'd like the new color to play nice with bedroom color. I think it does. Finishing the stairwell massive painting project is next, and then I can get the flooring all put in and be done with the downstairs. I also have sampled out a few other whites too, but will save those for later....See MoreLiving room/dining room design help please!
Comments (3)I think you are right for the living room. Is the shelving unit going? I would replace with something that takes less space - unless you actually have a lot of books you can't part with. You said TV - if possible I would mount it on the wall to save space and get a smaller unit or electric fireplace underneath. For the kitchen I would consider a round or square table - but if rectangular is what you have then I would place the longer side against the currently mirror wall; and have 2 chairs along the wall side and a bench along the opposite side. Not sure what size the space is but if on the smaller side, the bench would allow you to seat more people without crowding the space up with chair, chair, chair, chair. :)...See MoreLiving Room/Dining Room Combo - design help!
Comments (1)Cute place, i see the challenge, but I am really against a sectional in this space let alone for guest to have to sit next to each other it creates a weird dynamic. I hope you are not planning to put the tv over the fireplace that would also be a neck breaker. I see the couch on the side the two red chairs. the tv on the wall with the lockers and 2 chairs to the dining room side....See MoreLooking for ideas for our wood trim and design for living/dining room.
Comments (8)The wood trim is beautiful and gives character and texture to your house. I'm with everyone else suggesting that you use paint and tweaks on your lighting, art work, and furnishings to lighten the spaces. Here's an article on Houzz about paints that go with wood trim--not all of them are white. Many warm colors complement wood trim--oranges, turquoise and other blues,, cream https://www.pinterest.com/pin/346214290074417244/ For reference, I have a wood trim Ideabook with some examples from Houzz:...See MoreYayagal
