Comments (10)Stacey, there are tours & I did go through it. Surprisingly, the rooms are smaller than they appear on TV but it's a gorgeous place. The current countess is a great writer who wrote "Lady Almina & the real Downton Abbey" which was a fascinating true story about that countess who was the illegitimate daughter of a Rothschild. She set up a hospital there during WWI. Got that one on my Kindle. I got her 2nd book about the next real countess at Highclere & it's signed. There is a flock of crows(they're called something else I think) that routinely glean the harvested soybean and corn fields around here and I never have my camera. A photo would make a great Fall or Halloween card - yours too. Moni - that church reminds me of my house! All it needs is a tall door on the front where the window and air conditioner are. 9 years agolast modified: 9 years agoKorean War Memorial, Washington, DC. I like the way that it appears that the soldiers are walking toward the US flag. Not sure if the memorial was planned that way, or the flag just happens to be in that location.
