I don't know anything about Antique roses but

I would like to learn how to take a cutting.

This rose has been growing beside the garbage dumpster for years and last night I learned from a neighbor that it had been planted by another neighbor who had passed away. The two neighbors had been very close.

The landscapers had cut about half of it off, it used to fill this whole corner and was just lovely. Other years it was mostly ignored. Never fed. I think the part that is left looks healthy though. Anyhow, I thought it might be nice to give her a back up bush, if I can. She said it was a "Cecile Brunner."

I know nothing:)

How to do this?

When to do this?

How to over-winter?

Does it become a bush very quickly or does it stay a stick for years?

I peeked at Propagation but what works best for you with an Antique Rose? Or maybe just a link to a good procedure.

Thanks

This whole corner was usually a mass of sweet smelling blooms.
