'Perfectly' decorated Home verses a Perfect Home for your Family?
Comments (66)I've enjoyed this thread so much. (Well, except for all those 'annoying' football comments. I mean really, let's get the over hyped Super Bowl out of the way so we can get on to the real sport...BASEBALL! Go Rangers! lol Auntjen, we are neighbors as I, too, live in the same county as Jerry World.) ahem...back to decorating. I'm a new real estate agent and one of my fascinations is seeing the inside of people's homes. I held an open house this weekend at a charming home. Talk about beautifully decorated! I so wish I could have taken photos just to show you guys the decor. (The RE photos don't show the decor like I'd like to show y'all.) After two hours of 'living' in the home, I was ready to go back to my more rumpled and comfortable home. lol I know the owners have 'staged' the home to be very, very nice looking and they are getting the right kinds of comments. I just know that for me and mine...we go for that 'creative' look. lol My goal, an ongoing, ever-ellusive goal, is to create a warm, inviting, and comfortable place to live that still delights my eye and artistic sense. That's possible, not perfect...and when it comes together, it is PERFECT. ;0)...See MoreHome Decor Auction Items on ebay - Shill Bidding
Comments (41)nosoccermom, that's kind of a tough one. If the item is unique and you can't buy it elsewhere, you could try contacting the seller and asking for a Buy It Now price. (You're sure it's not that they are just relisting an identical item, right?) Hard to know how they will react but I don't see what it could hurt. I would write the request carefully so they can't really tell if you're accusing them of shill bidding or not; if they think you are going to report them, they'll probably just block you immediately and move on. How is the rest of their feedback? Sometimes you can look at the detailed feedback other buyers have left to figure out if the seller is above board, or not well behaved. If they react negatively (or if you find bad things in their feedback) and you decide it's a lost cause, then I'd probably contact eBay and report the practice. As far as I know eBay still does not look kindly on this practice at all. However, I don't think there is really a way to force the seller to act like he should (to make sure you can buy the item.)...See MoreIdentical faucets from 2 companies? Anyone know the difference?
Comments (11)If the Pegassus faucet is actually made by Graff, and you can buy it for Home Depot prices, by all means do it right now before it gets away. However, I am not aware that Graff makes any store brands. Most likely it is a Graff design that has been copied by one of the large Asian manufacturers, Globe Union or Lota, and sold to Home Depot for repackaging as a Pegassus faucet. The best way to tell is to look for the country of origin on the box. If it's China or Taiwan, it is absolutely not a Graff. If it is Germany or an East European country, it may be a Graff, but there is no guarantee. Graff is widely "copied" (spell that "c-o-u-n-t-e-r-f-e-i-t-e-d"). The only sure way to buy an actual Graff is from an authorized Graff dealer. Comments (34)BeverlyFLADeziner I was just using this sofa until,,,, it was in my den. I gave away my living room set from my home before I moved to this high-rise. I can do an 88" sofa but I would not be able to have an end table at the end of the sofa, there wouldn't be any room to walk through to the dining room (without the end table I have 37" walkway). On the other side of the room I was trying to hide an ugly convector which is why I wanted to put a loveseat in front of the windows, the pan indicates the difference in the sofa length. I would have 70" for either 2 chairs or one 67" loveseat (I believe you are saying 2 chairs are more pleasing to the eye than a loveseat)? The second layout would work, the first layout, one would be walking into the chair. Beverly thank you so much for your time! pan is the difference in sofa length Walkway to dining room, no room for end table....See MoreRelated Professionals
