This patch of Siberian Iris was planted by the original owners of our lot. It has been here since the 1940's I was told. Never divided or given any care in many years.

Do you see them? Two beautiful doves sitting on the branch. I took this in the Kroger parking lot of all places. There were 4 of them. I have some that live in my yard I love hearing their songs.

I'm inside the new Museum of the American Revolution in Philadelphia...I'm standing in an interactive battleground (Brandywine for our historians:)) and experiencing the rumbling, shots and smoke as the battle is occurring. It's an incredible museum where all aspects of the Revolution are highlighted in great detail, using all your senses. Just a fantastic experience!

Coincidently ravencajun, I was planning to share my mourning dove photo today. She decided to nest in the spider plant container that hangs near our front door. I tried to discourage her when she first showed an interest in the location, because I have to water that plant frequently--to no avail.

I have a bird currently building a nest in my big beautiful begonia hanging basket in the atrium. I have a bird house in the atrium and it gets used but this one is determined. My sprinkler Mist system will get them wet but I guess they get rain in the trees.

blfenton, I was near Tahlequah Oklahoma on a 43 mile bicycle ride on Saturday... that is where the photos from yesterday and today came from.

Maybe the mist system was a location selling point. :) I had some misters at the house without a/c, but not at this one we bought with a/c. I'm worried a bit about the wet soil and the temperature of the eggs, but they are mourning doves--the rabbits of the bird world. I'd probably be more concerned if it was one of the struggling species.

Yes, I am allergic to some flowers. For instance, I will NEVER have mums in my yard, and any flowers sent to me, that have mums aren't allowed in my house. :(
