Comments (26)All of caseynfld's answers are correct. P. Is the Brooklyn Bridge, not the Roebling Suspension Bridge, although both are quite similar and both were built by Johnathan A. Roebling. The one in Cincinnati was built as a proof-of-concept to show the design would work before he was allowed to build the Brooklyn Bridge. The only picture I can find of the Roebling Suspension Bridge is from back in the 70's when it was known simply as "The Suspension Bridge" When it was built, Mr. Roebling wasn't allowed to have the bridge line up with the roads on either side of the river, to intentionally make it difficult to use to avoid being too disruptive to the business of the ferry boat operators...See MoreI'll Show You Mine if You Show Me Yours Mon May 30
Comments (12)I've been off work since last Wednesday finishing projects around the house. Spent this weekend cleaning all weekend (not just clean, but using the steam cleaner on my hands and knees scrubbing the floors kind of cleaning). I've been buying and preparing food. All that was left? To put the just cooked pie on the counter. sigh. At least there was time enough to make another before guests came. Comments (27)Wow! First thing I do when someone brings me a cat or kitten or one shows up is cart it off to the vet before it is even brought inside with the others. Soon as they are old enough they go off to be fixed! I have heard people tell me Oh, I will get them fixed but I want her to have one litter before I do? Why? Why? So because you"think" you will get one just like the mother father, you bring 4-8 more kittens into the world that you will have to give away free to good home and those people wont fix them and they will breed and just keep breeding. Sigh. Sadly with cats there are so many that a re-homing fee doesn't work. If you charge a re-homing fee a lot of people will just go where they are free. Most of my rescue work is with feral cats and Kittens. The shelters and Rescues are so over run that any feral brought in is usually put down right away because they just don't have the resources to socialize them. Comments (12)Looks like the babies are good size so I think they must have lost 2 babies. That's unfortunate. We have a yellow crested night heron that built a nest way in the top of one of the giant pine trees in our front yard. We have been watching and the babies are getting very big for the nest. I think we will see them learning to fly soon....See More

Do you see them? Two beautiful doves sitting on the branch. I took this in the Kroger parking lot of all places. There were 4 of them. I have some that live in my yard I love hearing their songs.

I'm inside the new Museum of the American Revolution in Philadelphia...I'm standing in an interactive battleground (Brandywine for our historians:)) and experiencing the rumbling, shots and smoke as the battle is occurring. It's an incredible museum where all aspects of the Revolution are highlighted in great detail, using all your senses. Just a fantastic experience!
9 years agoCoincidently ravencajun, I was planning to share my mourning dove photo today. She decided to nest in the spider plant container that hangs near our front door. I tried to discourage her when she first showed an interest in the location, because I have to water that plant frequently--to no avail.
