Hot water for 10 seconds then cold
Comments (3)I'll assume that you have an oil boiler. These can be set up in many different ways and depends on what kind of boiler you have. Can you provide more information about your boiler? Take some pics of it and the associated pipes, if you can, and post them. This same 10 seconds hot then cold again happens at how many faucets, all of them? Do you have mixing faucets or separate valves at all of your sinks/showers/tubs?...See MoreHow to split a spigot w/ ability to turn water on/off from 2 plac
Comments (8)Put a Y on the spigot on the 1st floor. These have thumb valves to turn each section of the Y on and off. Leave the spigot on, the Y branch leading upstairs on, and use the other branch for the 1st floor on/off. Run a hose up to the second floor and put a valve on the end of that. You could use a regular garden hose, but is might have a potential to burst. Since its cold water, you could just use 1/2" poly pipe avialable at Big Box stores, too. Might look for long steel braided lines like they use for washing machines? Or you could get real fancy and run a copper pipe, but that gets expensive and requires more tools and some skill which you are proabably not willing to do. For the valves, use brass, not plastic....See MoreHow to stop water dripping off front apron sink onto cabinetry?
Comments (9)I had the same problem with my apron front soapstone sink when I first got the sink although my doors did not warp, thank goodness. I even posted a thread called "help my sink keeps splashing me" because not only was water dripping everywhere, but also I was soaking wet after doing dishes and had to change my clothes. It took me awhile to get used to turning my faucet strength down to minimize splashes. I also lay a folded towel horizontally across the top of the sink if I am doing a big clean up. I wipe off the front and back of the door if it gets wet too. Although not for you, fatlady...if anyone is still doing their remodel...There are also DRIP RAILS which are supposed to prevent this problem although I have never seen one in person. It is a bullnosed piece of countertop that is placed under the sink on top of the cabinet to catch the drips. I did not see a picture of this until after my remodel but I love the look. There is a picture of a dark granite drip rail under a white farm sink on the first picture in the Christopher Peacock slide show. Comments (31)I'm late to the discussion, but the photo os the underside of the leaf shows spider mites. They aren't fussy as to crop, so they can affect many of your vegetables. The treatment isn't a one time thing. They flourish in hot weather and where someone has used a broad spectrum insecticide which kills off the beneficials. Spider mites are first to rebound after spraying. Spider mite IPM...See Morejohnsoro25
