Euphorbia lophogona x millii I believe. Some are almost thornless. It wants warm tropical (humid), sunny growing conditions. Looks to be getting way too little light. Here is a link that might be useful: Crown of Thorns

The spikes are their inflorescence. I was wondering if this plant is going to blossom , turns out it is not. Yes, gardenguru1950 is right, it looks like Aizoaceae, Cylindrophyllum, Delospermum, maybe even in the family Portulacaceae. These are plants from mainly dry and sunny areas, they are a succulent. They need plenty of sun (expose it gradually to bright sun over a week or so, because it might sunburn if put under the sun quickly, as it has been in the shade for a long time). And don't water it as much, let the soil dry slightly before watering again.
