I'd rent a Rug Doctor, make sure it has upholstery attachments on board. Don't rent just the plain carpet scrubber. The attachment I used was a hose with a piece on top about 4 inches wide for doing upholstery. I used it on a nylon sofa that was pretty grubby. It got it looking brand-new. Good luck!

FYI; if you forgo using an oil-based SS cleaner/polish on the DW (if you opt to get one in SS), you will find the surface much easier to clean and keep clean. Stubborn or sticky stains can be removed (easily) using BKF (Barkeeper's Friend)--the powdered version, with a wet sponge or gentle (no scratch) scrub sponge. That's how I removed a residual mustard "stain" from my friend's brand-new SS DW (Electrolux). For normal cleaning (full or spot), I use alcohol & water spray mixed with some essential lavender oil (lavender has natural anti-bac properties, might improve surface tension of the mixture-?, and smells nice!). Spray, wipe dry with a micro-fiber cloth. That's all it usually needs. For stubborn marks, I'll use a small sprinkle of BKF. Our Miele DW is paneled, but our other appliances (range, fridge, MW) are SS, and they still look great after 6 +/- yrs of use.

If you are set on the Toto brand, then anything you want will probably work. I live in new hotels most of the year and use all the new toilets. After having a Toto Drake for 6 months, the toilet I bought was an American Standard Cadet "3." You can get the same toilet at Lowe's and Home Depot for about half the cost of Toto's lowest cost model. The Cadet "3" has the equivalent of sanagloss on every style and color. My second choice in toilets would be the Kohler Cimmaron. All three (including Toto) flush fast and quietly. The AS and Kohler are much less expensive. The parts you will need for maintenance is the same on all three. I think the low volume flush technology problems have finally been solved. Toto seems to have started it, but the other brands now have models that are just as good. I have noticed a difference in the 'sanagloss' finish. My AS Cadet "3" never gets black spots in the bowl. My other toilet develops spots in a few weeks (sorry but cleaning toilets is not my priority). One-piece toilets are supposedly easier to clean. They are much harder to heft through the house to install, but you don't do that every week. Your pipes should not need to be rearranged. If I was to buy a Toto I would get it locally for the reasons you stated. With Lowe's or HD you cannot buy any kind of loyalty. My plumber had never installed a Cadet "3" before and allowed half a day to install. He was out of the house in 30 minutes raving about how easy it was to install. I'm not sure what that means, but he wanted me to know it was the easiest toilet install he could remember. If you have not noticed on the Terry Love site, there is no discussion about toilets other than Toto. I used to have posting privileges on his site until I started mentioning the positive features of other brands. Then I was banned without notice. So if you only want to read good things about one brand, then his website is a great one. According to independent testing, the Cadet "3" and I believe the Cimmaron both out perform the best Toto models by a considerable margin. However, the performance of the Toto is very, very good.

I purchased a Blanco precis under mount sink in 2010 for my kitchen. It is a beautiful sink. However this year, 2014 the sink cracked on the left side near the bottom curve....the crack continues to grow up the side and across the bottom. The sink leaks so we can't use it. We have a dishwasher and are not heavy users of the sink...so we're alarmed and surprised that it cracked after 4 years of use. We contacted Blanco Canada, who were very pleasant and they said that they no longer make the sink in white and gave us other color choices to replace our damaged sink under the lifetime warranty. We asked if there was another white or stainless sink model that we could substitute that would fit our cutout in the counter top...they said unfortunately not. They did not offer any other solution. Unfortunately our whole kitchen is pure white so the color options offered won't work. Our sink is undermount with Caesarstone countertops...so we have a problem. We contacted Blanco in the States...and have found the same sink in white which we have ordered. They went out of their way to be helpful. Denise Durken....their customer service person is wonderful. As far as cleaning is concerned. ..our existing sink was great for about 2 years. ..then it started staining...because our whole kitchen is white...the staining really shows. I have found the best solution is filling the sink with water and adding powdered oxyclean and letting it soak for hours. The sink returns to sparkling white. The stains return all too soon though. Between oxyclean treatments I use a stiff brush and Vim ...it does a good job. .but I worry about long term erosion of the surface. Overall I am disappointed with the fact the sink has cracked...and it is difficult to keep it white without a lot of work....because of the undermount issue we are compelled to use Blanco again . From a practicality point of view...i would probably order a dark color if I were to redesign my kitchen....i think there would be fewer cleaning issues.
