KDs, do you know where I can find either of these backsplashes?
Comments (5)Macy, Live_wire_oak, I searched ebay and the big mosaic sellers and even emailed them pictures. I didn't have any luck so far. Also local tile stores, no luck. They all told me if you come up with a design, we can have an artist copy it onto tile or mosaic. I am not a good enough artist to make a design. If I don't find either of these, my default plan is to use a monochromatic raised fruit bowl that I did find in biscuit color and whitish color, probably with the same color field tile and black marble frame. Would biscuit or whitish backsplash go best with neutral white cabinets and black stone countertops?...See MoreCan you help me decide if this Backsplash tile will work?
Comments (23)Of all the ones Saskgirl posted, I like the second one from the left, and the second one from the right. The gorgeous dark one to the left of the mixer might also be good, hard to tell in the out of proportion pic. I still think it's an artistic issue, ie you need someone with an educated eye to help you pick out the right colour/proportion to balance/complement your granite. Maybe ask Nuccia? She just posted her kitchen pics, and she (or someone helping her) obviously has an eye for colour!...See MoreCould I use these penny tiles as a backsplash with this granite?
Comments (10)I think we'll have to use a light gray grout so the white penny pops. I really love the first penny tiles. I first saw them a year ago but they didn't work with the granite we were originally going to use. Then we reselected this granite and I didn't think about the penny tiles until a few days ago. I was happy to see that it seems to pick up all the gray and greige colors in the granite. I wanted a pop of white too because of the floor and white shower pan. I think this will be the effect if we used the multi-colored pennies in a vertical strip like my drawing: This is how the shower would look. Our toilet is between the vanity and shower so it makes sense to offset the mosaic strip to the open side. We will probably use the same type of rolling shower door. We're going to use this Kohler shower bar, which is a combination shelf and grab bar. It comes in several lengths. We can use either the 24" bar on the shower head side of the shower with the penny tile running through it as shown in my drawing or we can center the 36" bar on the 60" wall, with or without the penny tiles. I think the shower bar is an accent in itself and maybe the shower doesn't need accent tile. Which would you do?...See MoreWhere can I find one large backsplash tile?
Comments (13)Custom ceramicist in you region might be an option? A feature can also be made of multiple tiles that are pre-mounted as one so easier installation into the field tile. Don't know where you are but we are involved with the tile artisan community, which is vast. Depending on what you are envisioning, likely someone can make it to your specifications. We actually have an online group for Tile Trade Artisans and would be happy to post your vision. Send us a message if you like. (Note, we are leaving for a tile industry conference tomorrow and won't respond until later next week)....See More- 7 years ago
