4. LR with SW Riverway paint and SW Silvermist ceiling all trim paint is SW Alabaster

5. Foyer front door to den, SW Aloof Gray in den

6. kitchen to den. Aloof gray walls, BM Night Train on FP, Alabaster trim

I would really appreciate any help with dining room. I would like to do wallpaper but it needs to flow with Riverway in LR, Aloof Gray in Kitchen, and all of that dark trim will be painted Alabaster. We will hang my husband's grandmother's crystal chandelier in the DR when done. Thanks for any advice.

I would hope you would stay in the gray/silver tones that are in your kit.? and in your floorings rugs etc.

Can I do that with the colors in my rug (Photo in above post.)? I really don't want to have to replace it because it was $$$

I can see a silvery blue gray working with that rug. As much as I like wallpaper, I would go with paint in the dining room because of the patterned rug.

Very pretty, love the upgrades you've done already. I wouldn't do wall paper either and opt for paint instead. Something like SW Sea Salt or SW Comfort Gray would be really pretty in that room, Sea Salt is a chameleon type color that kind of mimics your backsplash and depending on the lighting, it can have either a blue or green undertone. SW Comfort Gray is the same color only a shade darker and might match your rug better.

^^^Love Pal's choices. I was thinking of choosing a light colored paint in flat or matte finish and above the chair rail stencil on top of the flat paint with the same color in gloss finish. It could be a large damask pattern or stripes.

If you're going to do wallpaper I really like the idea of soft blue and white stripes. It will never look dowdy or old fashioned; it's a classic look.

thanks so much for your ideas! I plan to cover the red chair in the LR with a neutral and also remove the runner with the red in the foyer. The rug in the LR also has the salmon/mauvey/coral that is in the rug in the DR so I had considered doing the walls in the DR in that color but I don't want it to be jarring, just to flow with the rest of the downstairs. This is so hard.

Bump anymore ideas?
