Congrats for your new hobby! I'm quite a new enthusiast too, these things are just addictive! Few quick tips: 1. Most succulents need quite a bit of sun, so bright windows if growing indoor, otherwise some outdoor time would be great for these sun lovers 2. Water only when soil is dry to touch (the top 2-3 inch of soil), or even less on some plants. You also need to look into each plant's growing season and their dormant periods. And it is recommended to water with rain or distilled water, because tap water or bottled water has minerals that will build up to kill the plants in the long run 3. Seems like the nursery you got it from did a pretty good job so far, these plants look very healthy, you might have to repot them eventually depending on what kind of soil base they used, but I'd say if the plants stay healthy for awhile you should just worry about this next growing season, which is usually around spring/summer. 4. Horvath2, Your photo did not come through. :-( It will be hard to help with their care without knowing what you have. Can you try the photo again, or list what you have. Some succulents are winter growers, so it would help to know what plants you have. your questions are not sill. :-) Everyone has to start somewhere, and this is a good place to get the help you need. Hi Chelsea. If no-one else answers, create a new thread. I reckon that more people would be likely to check it out. Lovely looking plants :) Funny how it's so similar to this thread, even the plants lol. I could give only some advice but I think it would be better not to do anything with the plants until your ready with everything at hand from the suggestions from others here that know a lot more than me. First thing I'd do is to get some pots that have large drainage holes. You might be advised to get one a bit bigger for the bottom right one. You'll definitely be told/advised to get a pot for the one in the glass. Also the mix advised above is what probably most here use. Half cactus and Succulent potting mix and half perlite, but the Perlite needs to be sieved or rinsed first. Both can be bought at garden centres and places like that. I hope it all goes well for you and your lovely plants :)

It is Aloinopsis schooneesii. There are many here on the forum who grow them. I only remove leaves that have dried so much they are husks. Otherwise the plant is still absorbing them and they don't pull off easily. I recommend a mix with low water retention so you can water it fully and not have to worry so much. Mine goes dormant during the summer in the heat and grows very nicely in the cooler fall and winter. They are not that hard to grow. Just need lots of good light and the right soil mix.
